Omg I'd love to get to this point of my life, in a few months I'll officially be a registered nurse, now I'm just struggling waiting for graduation. One day, just to afford basic household items, is a blessing we don't usually appreciate. This is giving me peace somehow.

squalane cleanser from the ordinary was the reason I broke out, leaves your skin super dry after washing, switched to cera ve hydrating cleanser + cosrx advanced snail Moisturizer + Beauty of Joseon - Relief Sun sunscreen was what fixed my skin. Very minimal to no makeup on most days, my skin is now spotless and super smooth, no breakouts!

The experience you have had with the online grocery shop is why I won't do online grocery shopping as I can't cope with it. I totally get from the perspective of if you are housebound or you don't drive for example but as much of a pain as grocery shopping is I go to the store in person as I can sort my own as I'm quite particular especially with my fresh good.

Hi Taz, for skincare I'd recommend taking it slow to begin with, so only introduce one product at a time. That way you'll know if a product is irritating you and breaking you out. A really good product from the ordinary to help with breakouts and pigmentation is the Aloe + NAG 2%, very gentle, use twice a day and it stops breakouts and helps with hyperpigmentation. Hope that helps!

Regarding your skin... Same happened to me, good skin, but when lockdown happened I ended up buying lots of skincare. I kept breaking out and you'll never guess what fixed it....... I stopped putting ANYTHING on my face, not even moisturiser (I'm lucky I don't get dry skin). Noticed the excessive oiliness disappeared too! Only thing I do to my face now is wash it in the shower

I know many people like this. For many people without touching your skin your skin will recover itself. People advertise all these skin / makeup products that ultimately lead you to breaking out and needing to buy more products, more skincare, more makeup to fix and conceal as a result. Why else would the cosmetics industry be over a billion dollar business. It's about the consumerism. While applying skincare and makeup is fine, people should know when it is breaking out and take a break from products to give your skin time to heal naturally.

Hi Taz, you're right to go slowly with your skincare. Also, it's easy to buy lots of products and want to use all of them so your skin gets better, but using too many acids at the same time can definitely break you out because your skin barrier isn't protected enough. I'd recommend to start with the niacinamide and not go with more than maybe 2 different serums (one at night and one in the morning if you must have different ones) 😺 EDIT: actives, not acids lol

Hi Taz. I'm new to your channels and have really been enjoying watching your videos. I'm very similar when it comes to housework, I need a day to do it all rather than bits of it throughout the week. I struggle so much with my skin. I've had acne all of my life and also have rosacea. I know for me, the biggest issue comes from what I eat. Processed foods definitely impact my skin. Haha I absolutely feel you with the whole consistency thing, I get really into things for a couple of days and then forget all about it!

I only use three products for my skincare routine. I have a cleansing soap. And then I have a toner from REN. And this toner has really helped to clear up my HYPER pigmentation and even take off the skin from my face. After that I use sunscreen or I use a moisturiser that has sunscreen of SPF 50. That’s all I do. Because I feel like when I have too many products, it’s hard for me to be consistent because I get overwhelmed by all the steps I have to do. I hope this helps ✨

How did you use it? Did you use it on its own, or was it moisturising enough without moisturiser, or did you use it before, let it soak in and then apply moisturiser. Thanks

@@x-starlight-x I used it at PM time and I’m usually oily, so I didn’t use moisturiser at night. I personally combined it with lactic acid some days, and other days just used it alone all over my face or just targeted spots :) but if you want to use moisturiser, I would recommend going in with alpha first, let it sit on the skin for a minute to absorb, then moisturise always as your last step (as face oils/creams are the heaviest). Also, Alpha arbutin is a brightening serum so I deff use an SPF during the day to prevent any sensitivity xx

I’ve struggled with acne for years - had a bad bout of illness which triggered them and they just won’t budge and even if I get the odd spot it takes forever to go. Things that are helping include using a silk pillowcase, minimum of 2l water and reducing my junk and processed food. I’m trying skin and me atm (I really can’t tell if it’s working and expect it to take ages as the hyperpigmentation is so old) but have told myself that it’s affecting me a lot so will try hydrafacials or laser after. If you’re feeling down I’d defo recommend hydrafacials as they make a bit impact x

When you go from no skin care to suddenly using products, you're gonna have cranky skin. its adjusting to the products along with all the junk coming to the surface (hence the breaking out). Also i find keeping my face products i need to use consistantly, i leave them somewhere at eye level. I'm more likely to see them and use them.

I had the same issues as you when it comes to hyperpigmentation. I also spent hours on youtube trying to find how to get rid of them. At last, I got myself Neogen vitamin c and they disappeared like magic in like barely a month. Any vitamin c should do the job, but of course, like you mentioned, make sure you use it at night only. I never used it during the day because it could make your skin go darker.

actually it's very good to use vitamin c in the morning, it enhances the effect of the sunscreen. Back in the day we used to say that vitamin c wasn't good on the daytime, now we know how to process vitamin c correctly for it to be effective either way. This may be a stupid question but when you do this, do you always get them in reusable bags and do you just have a big stash of reusable bags or is there there a way to give them reusable bags you already have or do they come in like a truck and you go down to the truck and they just put the items in your bags? Sorry if this is a weird question.

Hey Taz, really enjoyed this video, but then I subscribed to your channel a while ago anyway! I love The Ordinary range - really good quality skincare for a reasonable price. Good Molecules are an excellent range as well. I particularly like their Discoloration Correcting Serum which I use as I have a bit of hyperpigmentation around the eyes. Worth checking them out too. Also, Coraline is an excellent movie, and just because it is animated, doesn't make the movie any less creepy, uncomfortable and downright horrific at times. Well worth a watch. Finally, I took up needle felting. It is such a great hobby and you can start off doing kits from Amazon until you decide whether you enjoy it. It's like sculpting except using felt wool and needles.

The ordinary is not very good , after using it for a year for me there's no difference and for the very small difference the brand does make, it soon fades when you stop using it. Be careful with the face wash it can really dry your skin out and cause flares ups temporarily. Try bio oil for your hyperpigmentation and Nivia Soft is one of the best moisturisers you can use or L'Oréal but you should always have Nivea Soft in , it's a must. Truly love the skin you are in Taz because you have it for life. Each scar and patch tells a story of who you were at one point in time. Don't let society dictate a beauty standard for you to follow . You are beautiful just as you are .

Washing machines are usually in the kitchen in the UK and it depends on where the hook ups were installed as to where they are exactly in the kitchen. Our homes are much smaller than the USA and we don't usually have utility/laundry rooms etc unless it's a large/very expensive house that the majority can't afford. Heck even millionaires homes in cities are small and don't have separate facilities! In mainland Europe a lot of washing machines are installed in bathrooms but a lot of UK houses are really OLD, like Victorian old and didn't have bathrooms originally hence why ours are generally so small so not enough space for a washing machine.

In regards to your skin, women’s hormones start fluctuating in their 20’s! Mostly starts mid-20’s. Which is where the concept of “second puberty” comes from (even though it’s not actually puberty, but whatever 😂). So it might not be because you started doing skin care stuff during lock down. It might just be your body’s natural progression. I’m sorry the hyperpigmentation is affecting you so much. My friend is dealing with the same. Sending you lots of love ❤

You look beautiful as you are. However do what you need to feel better about yourself.

Taz you probably have hormonal issues. Breaking out, getting hyperpigmentation and putting on weight could be due to PCOS. Go to your GP and get checked out. And don't add so many new products to your skin routine, you need a very simple skin routine- only try 1 new product at a time
