Rapido raising their locomotive prices with their newest announcements isn't the greatest for us more budget people (like me) but its to be expected with inflation but they always make something that i would like to buy so i need to budget wisely! I also find it interesting how in the artwork for the mother and slug sets they show the cables that connect the mother and slug linked together however they did not mention anything about that and if they are making the sets with the cables like that then i hope they can make an accessory for those of us like me who got the GP9RM mother and slug set

That's true, I forgot to point that out (it's +$10 for DCC/Sound with these new ones for those who haven't seen). It would be so nice to be able to get everything, but I know many of these I'll probably miss just because I need to keep some kind of budget

@@da-joe-trains I live in Canada so before the MSRP for a DCC plus sound locomotive from Rapido is $469, before it was $369

Oh woah, had to check again. The CAD price has gone up significantly more than the USD, just comparing the two GP38 runs. Wonder why that is, because that doesn't make sense

@ Yeah especially since Rapido’s made a run of GP38’s before so you think it would be cheaper because they made the tooling. I’m also really hoping that Rapido makes the Canadian version of the GP38 because it’s never been made before and they have similar tooling from the GP40

Another great weekly recap video! That BNSF Blue Smurf looks pretty tempting but the price on rapido stuff is a bit to high for me. I’ve even noticed Scale trains price has went up a bit

Thanks! I do need a smurf eventually, but I think I want one of the white nose, ex GATX leases so my money is safe for now. And yeah, it does seem like prices have started to rise, a bit unfortunate but they have been pretty stable for a while so I guess it's about time

I really wish that ScaleTrains would announce a new run of SD-40s in h0. But this time with big RRs like UP and NS. Or a new run of Dash-9. Lately they have done so many ES44 or ET44.

At the bottom of the Scale Trains news letter it was mentioned that at the RPM meet on Jan 9-11 “we’ll be announcing some highly requested HO SD40-2s with ditch lights plus an all-new freight car”

Coincidentally after I had commented on a previous video about Bowser's F9s, their facebook page has pictures of all the roadnames and should be shipping in a week or so.

Any word if Rapido is going to fix the errors on the "GP39"? I was looking forward to getting one, but it appears that this is just a GP38 with a turbo hatch on top (which is completely wrong).

I'm not 100% sure. I have heard them say these first renders aren't perfect, so I'm hoping we can see corrected ones by the preorder deadline in April but they don't always release new renders in time

Just discovering your channel. I think I noticed where you occasionally mention when runs are cancelled. Do you have a website for your channel? Do you have a master list? I have pre-ordered an Athearn Dash-9 and wondering if it got cancelled. Is there an easy way to find out?

First, thanks for stopping by! I don't have a website, just the channel so far. The only master list I have so far is my roster of locos/rolling stock I own. A list of canceled items is a good idea to make, I just personally don't have any orders that were canceled at this time. I know there was a run of Dash 9s from Athearn that delivered around September/October 2024, since I was thinking about grabbing a BCOL model but eventually passed on it. Do you remember what the model # was on your preorder (ATHGxxxxx)? I usually search that to find the announcement pdf and go from there to see if others in that release are in stock at hobby shops. Athearn only posts on Facebook if they cancel models (and they sometimes make it to the newsletters)

@@da-joe-trains The dash-9 is ATHG1196 and also a GP39-2 which is ATHG66349.

The Dash 9 looks like it should deliver in May 2025, and the GP39-2 is likely by end of March 2025. They look to still be in progress!
