I do a quarterly and annual budget on the computer, but I started doing my monthly budget in a notebook and accounting spreadsheet. I find that I stick to a budget much better when I do it on paper. I seem to be a lot more budget conscious as well. When I just made grocery lists and didn’t meal plan I frequently bought things that we didn’t eat before they went bad. I also keep my pantry stocked with staples and a white board to write things we run out of right away. All these things have helped me be more organized and not to waste money or time. I also do a weekly cleaning plan so I do a little every day and don’t end up with a whole lot on one or two days. My house stays clean and organized. I love all your tips, they are great! God bless

Robin just watched this another idea for planning is i use a clipboard with storage and handle. I use my outlook to schedule things my phone, tablet and computerare linked so no matter what I use they sinc up. The first of the month I look over my full month to see what days I have appointments, work meetings, due dates for projects, and what days I have available to schedule other things. On Monday I go over the week, look at my last week and move forward any projects that still working on, and print out the schedule for the week. I use this to check off things, right quick notes and ideas. This has really helped me keep on track.

New subscriber. So glad to have found your channel. God is first in my life so I enjoy finding KZbinrs that feel the same about spending time with the Lord. He is my priority. I too use a book planner I can physically write in. I am not a technology person that uses apps for everything. I am old school. Technology is convenient but not necessary. I do a monthly meal plan each month which gives me freedom to either follow it or change it according to whatever life brings that day or week. It also helps write my grocery shopping list. I just look at my plan and buy what I need for the week. It works for me. My family eats animal proteins. I do eat a lot of plant based foods but I need to cook meats for my family so I eat them as well. Look forward to your channel and learning. Blessings.

I'm not great at planning in general (although I'm learning), but I've planned our meals for well over 30 years. It started when my husband was in the Air Force and was only paid twice a month. I had to shop for two weeks at a time, and the only way I could do that without forgetting something was to plan what we were going to eat so I could make a list of what we needed. A meal plan saves us money and frustration, and I kept it up even after he got out of the Air Force! I love seeing how you use your planner. I'm just implementing a paper planner within the past year, and I'm beginning to love it and NEED it! LOL

That imperfect produce box is a great idea. I can get some stuff like that at our local supermarket but it comes in plastic !!! I find doing as much food prep as possible to be key to eating well. I also make up a big salad on Monday that will last me 4-5 days for lunch.

Hi Robin, I had to thank you so very much for all the close up detail you showed us in all your meal planning, spenditure recording, your planner. Your Erin planner is one that I've wanted for yrs, but they don't ship to Australia, and I'm in Western Australia. So frustrating and very disappointing for me. So unless someone who knows me in the US, where I'm originally from in Oklahoma city, gifts me an Erin Condren Lifeplanner, ..I must be very content with what I find over here. The other matter is your consistent Bible reading routine and schedule. I'm also in the process of following a Bible reading schedule to read it cover to cover in this year. I've done this previously as well and there's nothing like it. You're very inspiring to me in all aspects of your life, including your relationship with your Autistic son Patten? I hope I spelled it right. Our only child , 27yrs old and married, is also Autistic. I have a question about your horse hair dish scrubber. I was wondering how you clean it? My plastic scrub brushes I run through the dishwasher every night to keep them fresh. I am considering getting the horse hair. Thank you for your channel!!!

Hi Melissa! I wash mine thoroughly with dish soap and hot water at the end of each day. Then make sure that it stands upright so that it can air dry. This keeps it very clean and fresh. I rarely expose it to something like raw meat, so if you do, you might want to pour some boiling water over it to rinse well after washing it . That should insure that it doesn't hold onto any germs. Hope that helps! 💛😊 💛

Great video Robin! I like how you keep everything in one place. Makes it so much simpler. I’m wondering what do you do with your receipts after you record them in your tracker? I always have the intention of going back & reviewing them but can never find the time (aka - I’m drowning I paper clutter! 😫)

Thank you Sarah. That is a good question. I have two envelopes, one for our cash receipts and one for our credit receipts. I put all of the paper receipts in their respective envelope. I date them for six months (1/2020 - 6/2020) and at the end of that time I start another envelope. We keep them for a couple of years and then shred them. It's not perfect, but easy and if I need to find one my search is narrowed down and it isn't hard to look through one envelope. 💛😊 💛
