I just came across you on my KZbin videos. I’m very inspired! One of the things that I use the photo organizers for is I made up first aid kits for both of my vehicles and put them in the glove box. They fit beautifully. For The medicines I just put in little small Ziploc bags like eight migraine tablets, eight Gaviscon, a Band-Aid or two, things like that because then you don’t have to worry about stuff being outdated because you have a whole bottle you forgot about. If you have to throw away just a few if they become outdated it doesn’t hurt as badly. Of course check it periodically and restock. Also if we are traveling somewhere I can grab that out throw it in my purse and bring it up to the hotel room with us.

Hi, Sophie! You have a lot of practical ways of organizing with things we have already. I dont know why but having an organized house makes me happy and have been helping friends out since the beginning of the pandemic, which is a complement. I wanted to share a tip for storing bedding in small spaces. I'm constantly changing my color schemes a lot. So, I went to Walmart and bought Hefty 10 Jumbo 2.5 gallon bags and put my pillow cases, shams, fitted sheets,and flat sheets all in one bag according to colors. Then, I used a permanent marker of what contents are in it and file organized it. That way, when I'm switching the bedding out, I'll know what will belong in the labeled bag. Of course, I wash them first, fold them and put them away inside my little ottoman bench . For much larger items, such as, comforters, I bought those vacuum bags you suck the air out and store them under my bed. I live in the desert and also acts as another aid to pollen,dust,dirt,and dog/cat hair as well. Hopefully, this will help out another person! Thanks again, 😊

I use a product similar to museum gel called “Party tack” and it comes in handy for so many things. Especially ill fitting candles in candle holders, and those pictures that never seem to stay level. I make a small bead to wrap around candles and a small bead at the bottom back of any wall art keeps it level.

I LOVE the idea of the zipper pouches. They are exactly perfect for cross stitch or embroidery projects. And for small sewing projects and quilt block storage! You could also use plastic chain links to get more than one backpack, or tote in each space. Have a hardware store cut about a foot, or two of plastic chain, loop one end of it over the top of your hanger, then hang additional backpacks, or totes farther down on the rings. You could easily fit two, or three items this way, which would leave you additional rod space for something else. I do my clothes this way, and typically get 2-3 shirts in a single spot on my clothes rod. Makes a huge difference in your space!

If you keep your board games in the box and they stay in good shape, they are an investment. I’ve sold board games from when my kids were young at auction for hundreds of dollars, but it has to be complete, box included. Earlier versions of Clue, for example, are worth a good deal of money.
@SophisticatedOrganization3 жыл бұрын
Totally depends on your interests! I don't typically hold onto things for resale value necessarily although I know lots of things years down the road may be considered a collectors item. It's all about making things functional for you, your family and aligning with your goals!
@lauralaforge5583 жыл бұрын
I bought all of mine from thrift stores. I was born in the 80s and notice a lot of the "new" games at the thrift are so cheaply made. I think that if they were so valuable, people would have been snapping them up to resell.
@lainemurphy1163 жыл бұрын
@@lauralaforge558 Like I said, they have to be in good shape, and it depends on the game. If they’ve changed the graphics, as they have in Clue and Life, that makes a difference. Monopoly pieces are no longer metal, and very early dice were still made from ivory. The first versions of Cards Against Humanity are going to be worth a fortune someday. I sold a Batman comic book from the 80s and paid for my son’s first year of college.

Hanging the tote bags is a great idea, thanks 👍 an added suggestion... Try multi hangers and you can hang the bags three or four downwards, it'd save more room 😉 and take advantage of vertical space, I do that with my clothes 💜 The sticky pockets on your canisters is an awesome idea 👍 An added idea to keep drawer organizers in place is to simply put a non skid cupboard liner in the bottom 😉 And as for gift cards, business cards, greeting cards, I store mine in a small binder. For the small cards ie: gift or business, I use the page protectors for collecting game cards, mine have 9 pockets per sheet, so if I use both sides I fit 18. And I use top loading page protectors for scrap booking, to store and sort greeting cards. It's really nice to share ideas on different ways to organize, I'm glad I found your channel 😊

Hello. In this FABULOUS video you show a small sized business card holder which is 100% clear and has a tab you can label. However the link takes you to the size for the greeting cards. Could you possibly share the link to this smaller size which is good for business cards? The other link, which is for gift cards/business cards only offers an A-Z tab system - but I group by category and so want to make my own label. Thank you so very much!

Hello! Just came across this video today! I love this idea too! How are they working for you? Does the adhesive last a long time? I like the idea with the mesh bags and the swimsuits. I only own 3 but it would be great to put the 2 piece suits in the same bag. I have craft mesh bags that i purchased in a dollar store. Also for the drawer organizers, I use shelf liners with the grips to hold them in place. I also purchased this at my local dollar store. Also the clear mini organizers are good for organizing jewelry, pins, rings, bracelets, etc. I bought these in the same dollar store. I do the same thing with the gift cards too! I just store them in a pencil case box as well as business cards. I just don't use dividers to organize them because I usually try to use the gift cards and don't let them accumulate. My business cards I just use a couple of binder clips and toss them inside the box. Yes, I'm the organizer in the family and the only minimalist too. Getting rid of the excess/unwanted helps me keep up with my organization.

Command hooks are great for the car to keep cords from falling onto the ground or getting wrecked in the seat track. I also use them for hanging masks on when not in use. I also have these little magnet things I bought on Amazon. One side sticks to the car dash/console surface and the other side clips onto the end of the cord. This popped up today so thought I'd watch it. I actually found your ideas useful, unlike some channels! We've emptied out our attic, so I'm going through a ton of photo albums I had up there. Can't quite get rid of the photos yet, so bought myself those photo boxes you mentioned, although mine (16 cases) then fit in an outer box. Anyway, I suddenly thought: these would be useful for all the leads and usb cables that seem to come with everything which aren't always labelled. So I've just bought a smaller box (think it has 8 plastic cases) that I can put the cables into and label the box. Just looking around, I have a cable for the camera; a cable for the dog's rechargeable light up collar; to upload photos from my camera to the computer; phone chargers and so on. Looking forward to having them organised. My other big 'OMG I love it' purchase was a clear 3-drawer kitchen organiser for eg tea-bags. Usually they're flat, but this one is a tower, and fits perfectly in my cupboards. I have two for my daughter's coffee sachets, and then I bought two more for my headache tablets, prescription meds, bite cream etc etc. Again fit perfectly, and you can see the contents so easily.

One of the most practical organizing videos ever. I have one for you! I bought plain, white slap bracelets from Oriental Trading to organize vinyl rolls in my craft room, but they didn't work for me...BUT...now I roll my hubby's and my underwear and tuck them into our drawers like tidy little buritos!
@SophisticatedOrganization3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Susan!! Genius idea! Did you ever find a good solution for organizing your vinyl rolls? When we move I am hoping to have a nice little craft set up 😊
@PKEDRM3 жыл бұрын
@@SophisticatedOrganization I took all of my 12x12 vinyl sheets and lay them flat in a scrapbook keeper. The rolls of scrap commercial vinyl that I have are just stored in one of those collapsible storage bins that's very heavy duty and perched high on top the entertainment center in my craft room. I can't even get to it right now because my shoulders are in need of artificial replacements and I can't lift my arms over my head. It's a good thing I don't use it very often. Someday I will find a better solution.
@SophisticatedOrganization3 жыл бұрын
@@PKEDRM That is exactly what I do with my 12x12s too. Sorry to hear about the shoulders! I am going to do a bit of brainstorming when I have to space to have a craft area and will be sure to share what I come up with!

Lots of good ideas. I always hesitate when I think about storage for cereal or oatmeal or something. What do you do with the left over cereals etc. that don't fit in the bin or when you buy a fresh box? I don't really have space to store the new boxes. Any help appreciated. I use a small photo album to store small craft items such as tiny cutting dies. Any help with storing quilling paper? That is paper strips about 20-24 inches by 1/8 in.
@SophisticatedOrganization3 жыл бұрын
I try to match my containers to the amount of products I buy (for the most part if possible). So in the case of cereal or oatmeal I like to have a container that fits a whole box, that way there is less back up to store, I do however keep one bine of my "backstock" pantry items.

Great video! I use cosmetic zipper pouches from the thrift stores for so many things (first aid, electronics, crafts, camping stuff). I was thinking about games too but was a little hesitant to purge all the boxes as there would be no going back. My mom kind of poo-poo'd the idea. But now I have new resolve to do that lol. Metal file organizers for sandals is something I definitely need to do. While I was watching your vid, I thought that for people who need their swim suits that organized, some kind of grid organizer may work as well (me, I throw them in packing cubes). I use cambro containers like restaurants do. I considered Oxo and have many other Oxo products but decided on cambros. Only negative thing about them is the square ones I like only come in 2qt and 4qt.

I stick instructions on the inside of the lid. I can’t stand seeing anything on the outside. I must be the only person who doesn’t even like labeling my containers. Looks too busy and I can see it’s pasta/rice, etc. without needing a label. I also have to OXO containers. I love them.
@SophisticatedOrganization3 жыл бұрын
You aren't the only one! Everyone has different preferences! But agreed that the OXO containers are great!

YES! On the inside of the lid. My oatmeal is like that & I thought the same thing when I saw it.
@sarahholland26003 жыл бұрын
Agree. Labelling storage containers with pasta etc or beverage jars with Tea/Coffee on them is tacky. You never see it in high end homes.
@bullcrapgoogle85283 жыл бұрын
I cut out and slide the instructions inside the container against the outside then pour in the product. Anything stuck to the out side is just a magnet for grime. The only things I label is 'like' items (types of flour for example) that might be difficult to identify by just looking.

...Some of these are really good ideas, thank you. But since I am so " Old School" ( I am in my 60's ) I find technology getting too intrusive...I think if people spend money on a Business Card, I wont just throw it away....It seems in this day and age, its become a " Disposable Culture".... People need to realize this, and not go too far with AI, and such.....It is not good. Technology can be used for ' good" , however I see so much that is taking away from our Human- ness.
@SophisticatedOrganization3 жыл бұрын
Totally fair! I do agree that it is much more of a "disposable culture" I try to keep the mentality that I don't want to hold onto something for guilt either (i.e. holding onto it because someone spent money on), but I do understand wanting to have a physical copy and not wanting to trust/use technology for everything!
@Ineverusemychannel3 жыл бұрын
@@SophisticatedOrganization I agree with both of you. In the case of business cards, though, I find digitizing them helps me form relationships with the person. By adding the information to my phone’s contacts I can have it with me at all times and add notes with key points from conversations we’ve had so even if I met a person once a long time ago I can remember to ask about family members, follow up on their professional life or just remember their interests. I can even connect to their social media profile and add a picture of them to the contact so I can recognize them faster in person. This really personalizes the conversations and makes most people feel important (which makes them enjoy talking to you). I wouldn’t be able to carry all of that information with me if I settled for a box of cards.
