I fell out of love with the Spider-Gwen comics _very_ quickly, but I still love the design, and when I first saw the Gwenom design on covers I was blown away. A lot of Venomised looks feel kinda phoned in or predictable, but Gwenom looks so much more unique with the tongue hoodie thing. I might just grab that figure to go with my Agent Venom (even though I don't think these two have ever met even outside of in these looks), it just looks so cool!

As a community, it would benefit collectors to remember that the entire concept of "price gouging" is predicated by necessity. Fuel, food, medicine and medical services. Toys and collectibles do NOT fall under this umbrella. Robo, on the topic of you doing customizing tutorial content. This is the one topic I have long felt was missing from the Robo-Universe. The way I interpreted the statement from McFarlane for the Joker set is that because the set represents a particular moment in the movie (where a person gets shot in the head on live TV) no retailer was gonna carry it, that means a lower production run, which means not as much a discount from the factory because lower production run = higher price. McFarlane maybe put in the order for half or maybe less than what he would normally would therefore the higher price.

Todd openly said at NYCC that he knew fans would be upset at the Joker 2-Pack. Like, he basically begged people to understand that it wasnt a fun situation for the Multiverse team and the price would suck. It really feels like they wanted to do a 2 pack with diorama for around 100-125 (30 for Joker, 22 for Murray, around 60-70 for the playset with my rough math based on current Multiverse prices) and WB came in with "250 minimum", since any other Joker merchandise is baseline $250 for statues and hot toys. It sucks cause, as you said, McF is really good about keeping prices consistent. 22 for a single pack, 25 for a BAF, 30 for a collector's edition. This seems like an annoying "we want to do this but have these restrictions our liscence holder wont let us work around."

Wish the same could be said about the 40k line. The prices have been far from consistent. Started at 30, climbed to 40 with the World Eater and Space Wolf wave (bastards! my favorite legions), same goes for the retools. Space Marine 2 figs are 45-50$... as heavy reused molds with some retooling. Hell the Terminator is a big hollow mega fig with less plastic than a standard 30-40$ space marine but twice the price.

Just to put this on Robo’s radar, there is a new comic out by Image’s Ghost Machine label called Rook Exodus and if these aren’t the most toyetic designs ever made I will eat my hat. The designs are by Jason Fabok and one of them really reminds me of the alternate Classified Road Pig Armored Boar helmet. The comic is written by Geoff Johns and the helmet gimmick in the book reminds me a lot of Mask. Check it out if you get a chance.

I think Robo's explanation makes much more sense. Especially when you realize that the 250 USD pack is pretty much depicting the very violent scene of Joker murdering somebody. There's also the fact that beyond 3rd party options there still isn't an official figure of Joaquin Phoenix's Joker (although I might be wrong about that). 250 is still pretty steep, but for such a set about a controversial scene in a really controversial movie (at the time) I can get behind Robo's explanation. Also McFarlane has been really good about offering value for money, more than any other western toy company I know of. So there's that too.

Yeah, the thing with the Joker set is that WB wants to treat those movies as "elevated", the stuff that wins Oscars and awards, not your average superhero movie, so they're demanding just the deluxe treatment for that franchise (a ridiculous thing considering The Dark Knight is also an Oscar winning movie, and they still market the hell out of it). Hopefully they won't pull this nonsense with the Mafex Phoenix Joker. NGL I'm disappointed since I personally was really looking forward for a Lady Gaga Harley Quinn figure, but now it seems like a distant wish

I have a figure that keeps transferring paint from the soft parts to the harder parts. I have some ideas but dont want to apply anything that will make the soft parts sticky
