I’ve been having the same trouble with groceries, but I started going to IGA and they are fully stocked. Plus, they deal direct with farmers, so you may spend a little more than coles, but in the long run, you’re supporting farmers. Hope this helps!!

Throne of Glass series I feel is a really great match for what you’ve described! I loved it for the character and story arcs, the adventure and the way it worldbuilt without it being overwhelming to read. And it has the perfect side plot of romance especially the deeper into the series you go

The mortal instruments and the infernal devices series by Cassandra Clare are such good fantasy books! But they are both based in the same world so read the mortal instruments first to like set up the work building etc and characters cross over :)

Local butchers & independent grocers/markets are not having a huge problem right now, they have plenty of stock. Definitely a good time if you can to support local instead of the larger supermarket chains who are struggling to get ahold of stock :) You'd be surprised that prices can be cheaper as well.

Just with the groceries shortages - try local butchers and fruit/veg stores! We haven’t seen any meat or fresh foods in main supermarkets but our local butchers and fresh grocers have heaps of stock!

My favourite fantasy series is the Shiver trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater. It’s considered a romance too :) the second book is called Linger, and the final is called Forever.

I loved Throne of Glass and the ACOTAR series. I was younger when I read it but I could not put it down, I remember reading it at lunch/recess/bus wherever I could. I loved the way the characters develop through the series. Very good writing 📚💖

The A Court of Thorns and Roses series has a LOT of smut- which I've heard you say you don't love...the Throne of Glass series also has smut but (in my opinion) has significantly less than Thorns and Roses :)) I love both series for the intricacies of the worlds and the INCREDIBLE character arcs!!

@@RachelCatherine ACOTR is soooo worth reading and just skipping the smut if you don’t like smut, such an amazing series, some of my favourite books of all time, it has such great character development and friendship development especially in the later books

You need to read C.C. hunters book series shadow falls! The first book is called born at midnight. It is a camp for supernatural teens. Got the mystery, fantasy and romance all in one! Definitely one of my favourite series

Her series' The Medoran Chronicles and The Prison Healer are my favourite of all time. She also has a sci-fi duology which is really cool as well.

ACOTAR is more smutty than TOG but like, not overly. I read acotar first and fell in love, finally decided to give tog a go in the middle of last year and now I think I like it even more. The first book did feel very slow, but once the series gets going I got absolutely sucked in. I'm a big fantasy/paranormal fan, so most of my fave stories fall within that genre, but a lot of them are super heavy on the *spicy* content which I know you don't love.

Not throwing any judgment your way, but independent butchers are supreme. Better quality meat, that came from better treated animals and they are not experiencing the level of supply chain issues. As a fellow shy person, I naturally dislike having to converse with people to get what I need, but butchers always tend to be really nice personable people! I hope that adds value 😂

I also love that your reading a fantasy, if you haven’t already the Harry Potter series holds a special place in a lot of peoples hearts and is a great place to start. Fantasies can honestly be my favourite, but because Harry Potter is still set in the “real world” it avoids feeling too cringy, that some fantasies can fall into. It’s so cosy and comforting I think you would enjoy it!! 🥰
