The bald guy, Fred Buljo, is singing in Sami, a native group of people situated mostly in the northern part of Norway, Sweden and Finland. He is also wearing a modernized version of the traditional Sami clothing called "kofte".

The bald guy (Fred) is actually not singing in Norwegian, he's using a traditional singing technique called yoik by the Sámi, the indigenous people of Northern Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Kola peninsular in Russia. It's not actual words, though there is (maybe) one sentence in there, it's just syllables that portray people, nature, towns. Every Sámi has a yoik that represents them and changes with them throughout their life. It's also not linear like a music score, it's circular and you can start anywhere and end anywhere. I don't know what Fred was yoiking here though. The shirt is based on the gákti (in Sámi) or kofte (in Norwegian), which is the traditional clothing. (Also, I'm not Sámi or Norwegian, I just live in Norway and know someone (also a foreigner) who grew up in a Sámi village. So if I said anything wrong, please feel free to correct me)

I only got into Eurovision 3 years ago so I never saw these guys originally. However I’ve seen them live now three times at Eurovision club nights and they ALWAYS bring the best energy on stage. They are so wholesome and true Eurovision legends in the community.

Sapmi is the nation of the Sami people. They are the ones that own the more or less wild reindeers in the north of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. They have, as US native citizens have a negative history with these four countries. They have usually much more colors in their dress, here they have made a modern version.

I love the Sami culture represented here. Few people outside the northern Europe understand that we do have indigenous population here. But differently from where European invasions and colonialism was done outside of Europe, our indigenous people look very much like the rest of the population.

They are still extremely popular amongst the Euro fandom. And they actually came 6th as the points were updated after the final due to a count error. They came 2nd this year in Norway's national final by only 6 points and would have won again if the voting system wasn't changed this year and would have done better than Gåte at Eurovision for sure.

Arcade is my 2019 favorite by this is right there in the top. Once I heard them live at Amsterdam pre-party I felt in love with the song. The joy that song gives you live... I forgive the claps because it really makes you happy. PS: Norway is amazing. They gave us Viking Queen Of Kings, the Banana Wolves, Nordic yodeling tecno. I love Norway.

It was one of my favourites that year, and I absolutely loved their second entry to Eurovision that didn't make it. 'Monument' was also an incredible stab at a comeback to the competition. Another rousing, uplifting pop song. And I agree with the claps during the performances. It's awful! And man, I hope 'Hatrid Mun Sigra' is on one of these lists!!!

I think the clapping is not off-tempo, but a desync between the stage audio and the arena audio, probably only noticeable on tv and video. An audience can start clapping off-tempo and then sync, but if you're hearing off-tempo claps all the time like it happens here on the bridge, it has to be audio desync.

About the clapping audience - An orchestra I ued to play in (classical syphony orchestra) would play a version of Radetzky Marsch by Johann Strauss, where in the first half the conductor would turn around and show the audience how to clap and it would be the classic clap on 1+3 thing (Radetzky Marsch is a regular 4-4 piece) but in the second half, after the audience have started to clap again, there's a 5-4 part which throws the clapping off by one beat so now they clap on 2+4 instead. Extra fun as the audience doesn't know if they should keep clapping in the new way or kinda change back into 2+4. Nerdy music comedy I guess but fun for us in the orchestra =D

Great song and the juries really did for them back then. However the true crime was that in 2021 they didn't represent Norway with Monument which was an incredible song that would have really stormed Eurovision.

My favorite Eurovision entry ever. Won the televote, but lost to Duncan Lorence with Arcade. Who was 2nd both in televote and jury. Keiino were suprised in the semifinals by the reaction of audience, I prefered the semifinal performance. It brings me tears and many emotions song by itself and the injustice they didn't win.

Ok I'm about to get biased here but there is a reason why they are my all time favorite artist. this song has the high energy of a song that I absolutely Love to bits and that's probably one of the reasons why this is my favorite song of all time but the other songs from them are a Must listen because Omg they are so good. some of the songs i would recommend are Monument, Insomnia and Black leather. these songs give you a good feel on what the band is like and shows the absolute skill of Alexandra (The girl you see in the performance you watched) thank me later ;D
