making a new pinned comment for this video! i honestly don’t like this song very much and it isn’t representative of my current work. i made it because TWF is loosely inspired by FNAF, and since FNAF has so many fan songs, i thought it would be funny to make a fan song for TWF, since one didn’t exist yet, at least not to my knowledge at the time i released it. (i could be wrong!) it was also still one of my first full-length songs. even when i first posted it, i wasn’t super happy with it, but it got a lot of attention and the revenue from it has honestly been helping me survive through college as a disabled person who physically can’t leave my dorm much. i make better music now and i don’t believe this song is exemplary of what i currently produce, but i’m keeping it up just for the AdSense money. i know that probably sounds uncaring, but please understand that it kind of sucks having a song i don’t really like being my most popular one, and being “the AUDIT person”, instead of being recognized for the deeply personal projects i spend a lot of time on. if you would like to toss any money my way so i can keep producing vocal synth music and buying food for myself, i have a Patreon and a Ko-fi. thanks for reading. ko-fi.com/weevildoing www.patreon.com/WeevilDoing

As someone who is fan of both your current music and TWF (this song being a huge catalyst for the latter), I really appreciate that you're keeping this song up despite your distaste for it. It's made a really big impact on so many people and, as silly as it may sound, this song has helped me make sense of a lot of my own turmoil. Despite it being outdated when compared to your current work, it still holds the same elements of suffering and awareness of how being in specific kinds of pain feels (The Post-Traumatic Manifesto has me CRUSHED like a little bug *every song is so good*). It also has the commonality of uniting people who know how these feelings are: your songs tend to feel raw and real and kind of cut straight into my soul when I listen to them, and AUDIT is not much of an exception for me. (and this is not to mention your musical talent, your backing music has always been SO AWESOME!!! Though it really really shines in your current work it also exists here and oooooh I get a high listenign to it sometimes its so fun (thank you for uploading instrumentals!!!)) Of course, this is your work; there is no shame whatsoever in taking it down if you ever want to (especially because it feels like it misrepresents your work as a whole). But for now, thank you for keeping it up, and I can't WAIT to meet the rest of the PTM girls!! :)

i just noticed, everything he lost was grayscaled, think about it, he lost jack after killing his children and ghosting him, then he lost his wife after she had enough. he lost molly and edd in the car wreck, and when he's talking to linda about how he's not the real him, his tone is more gray, because he was losing himself. but the colors also got more vibrant/intense, the more intense the situation

i really like how this shows more of what’s actually going on in the walten files - rather than just people acting like felix’s actions were totally okay or isnt as bad. it shows that felix isnt some evil and villainous guy, hes just a guy who ruined his own life and ends up ruining his friends lives by killing their kids in a car accident. also, this song? mwa, chefs kiss
@xxkittyxx25993 жыл бұрын
It really shows how an addiction can ruin your life and those around you's lives. You're right, Felix isn't a evil person by any means, a bit narcissistic but that isn't evil, but he also isn't a good person either. He let alcohol run his life into the cement and he knows this. The guy has a lot of regret and guilt but has no idea how to deal with it and is too scared to own up to it. I'm glad people see him as a tragedy about addiction and not just some villain who's "misunderstood."

@@xxkittyxx2599 oh no, i wasnt trying to say hes good. i meant to say that felix isnt somebody people should be forgiving or something like that. i cant fully explain what im thinking lolol

Not a lot of people are able to comprehend the difference between understanding and acknowledging that felix isn’t necessarily a bad person and excusing or forgiving what he did. Good people are capable of making mistakes, but his “mistake” was the result of a long series of bad choices and he is still at fault. A good portion of the fandom though seems to have adopted the mindset that it’s either “he’s a literal monster” or “but he didn’t mean it so it’s okay”
@petietheamazing72342 жыл бұрын
I love the Walten Files because of things like this. Felix was an asshole who cared about people around him, but in the end he killed the red kids. Jack couldn’t tell that Felix wasn’t in a good state of mind to pick up his kids, even if he didn’t get drunk and kill the kids Jack was still asking Felix for a lot just after his wife left. The red kids went on a killing spree after they were burred.

My mom was a struggling alcoholic for 5 years and she said it was a hard struggle and she wanted to stop but she couldn’t because her body physically needed it everyday and if she didn’t have it she’d be in excruciating pain. It’s a horrible cycle but now she’s doing 90 days in rehab and getting her life together.. this song is a good one to show people how hard addiction is and to not be horrible to people if they fail trying to stay clean. this song is absolutely insane. the lyric composition and instrumentation were already great, but the distortion effects (especially at 0:57, i have no idea how to ever do this and i am beyond impressed) added onto how good it already was. from the very beginning, i was hooked! i enjoy the usage of the piano quickly switching between chords. most importantly, the pacing of the song is phenomenal. i don't mean the bpm, but the rate of which ideas are presented. the switches between character interactions/events and breakdowns (verses to chorus) are also one of my favorite thing. there's so many things i enjoy about this song honestly ^^; i am so glad you had fun making it, because i'm sure i had such as fun listening to it

I love how the song transitions from this happy, up-beat theme with these happy lyrics, then quickly switches up at 0:57, then it plays out the same as in the beginning but darker, with Felix realising he's doing awful, being self-aware. Then the tone is completely switched upside-down, with him swearing in the lyrics, still convincing himself that everything's going to be alright and that he's going to make it. Then the car crash happens. He's not convincing himself anymore, he knows he fucked up, he knows he is awful and stupid and doesn't know what he is going to do now that it's too late. All of this because he couldn't resist. He couldn't make his mind up, and it ended up with him ruining his and others lifes. This one 3-minute song explains the walten files better than some theories. Great job.

oh my... i know nothing about the walten files but this song is absolutely amazing!! the perfectly clear storytelling, the emotion, the LYRICS..... it's also so wonderful. the lyrics portray his struggle/downfall in such a powerful way, it creates a perfect balance of empathizing with his struggles and realizing his poor actions (mainly through his words towards others, showing how he's started to act abusively despite his best intentions). and the line "the iron taste in my mouth mixes with the merlot"? that hit me like a ton of bricks. overall, well done!!! i'm really excited to see what other works you have in store.

All your music has such a great vibe of like... an unlabeled cassette/cd that you find in a weird store? Especially the static bits, but it's so unique and hard to find, it feels like pure serendipity you got to hear it at all? And it sounds just a bit worn, but that's part of the charm. Idk its all really good, and the lyrics are so pleasant sounding despite being so unhappy

I'm not a huge Walten files fan but this is fucking amazing, I've had it on loop for an hour. The happy parts are so delightful and the sadder parts are fucking soul crushing, I think it's the contrast between them that makes the song so addicting.

The best part about this song is that you don't actually *need* to be a Walten Files fan to get it. Sure, knowing the story adds a lot of context, but even as a standalone song about an alcoholic spiraling deeper into addiction, wrecking his marriage because of it, and then killing his friend's kids via drunk driving it works.

Top notch lyricism - it really conveys the *shadow* and declining confliction within Felix as it submerges him into a luring temptation of addiction and into a trance of denial and lack of self-awareness that can be oh so destructive. The instrumental intertwines with this as it spirals into dissonance, really capturing the guilt, despair, and dismay that enfolds Felix and as he comes face to face with an ultimate failure that costed the lives of two innocent children that once called him Uncle and the respect of his closest friend. Now he lives with a guilt that feeds off of him from the inside out and a memory that shall haunt him forever.

I love how the style of the video is also very reminiscent of older and/or the creepy vocaloid/utau/vocalsynth era The frame, the simple but fitting art, the slightly off white & dirtied BG in the framed parts One example that comes to mind is SeeU's I=Nightmare, at least for the MV style Absolutely love it
