Weigh Safe Tow hitch review after 800 miles. How it held up, wear marks, would I recommend it?

Your still a little light on tongue weight. At 6000lb you should have 740 to 840 pounds of tongue weight, 12-14%. Issue you will have is the guage failing and weightsafe not standing behind their warranty. I have 3 they won't replace or repair and all failed within 10 months of purchase

@@moejr14etrailer sells one that is a stand you use before hooking up to the vehicle. I’m thinking that would be a nice option

It’s a great built Hitch with a crappy gauge. Awesome when it works but I had to gauge break on three of them in a row if they could fix the gauge, it would be perfect.

Oh sweet lol! I am literally using the exact same vehicle....even the same year and color lol. I probably only need the 4" drop (after measuring correctly for it) but am also thinking about getting the 6" drop just for a little more variance. I am wanting the 1 7/8" and 2" balls. I have no need for that 2 5/16" ball. Any issues with the hitch being too low to the ground? Are you still happy with it and are you ok with having the aluminum version of this vs. the steel version? I'll be towing our 26' tritoon pontoon boat (about 31' with the bunk trailer).....boat is heavy for a pontoon boat as it has a V-8 engine in it. I honestly don't need the scale since you can't exactly change the distribution of the weight when towing a boat but I really like how this hitch is put together.

It has been great towing cars and boats. I’m happy with it. No dragging issues, but it has to be on the second bolt hole out for the Yukon bumper as you’ll see kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZ-3o5uEZsd2bZY

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage Do your trailer chains constantly smack/rub against that hitch? Just wondering if I should order that clear rubber/plastic to go over my chains.

I too have seen the gouging/rub marks on the bottom. Have you found a solution to that or is this just a nature of the beast type of deal?

I would assume you could shim it to take up any slack that would allow it to wobble, keep flush with receiver walls

I don’t see how aluminum is stronger than steel for this purpose.

It depends on how it’s constructed. Solid billet aluminum vs a tube construction of steel.

It's not my weigh safe hitch looks good but has so much play in the ball its no longer usable Fell apart in 6 months
