This is a spot on review, I bought myself a weighted blanked for Christmas, i always wake up naturally each morning between 430 and 530 am. After a week under the blanket, I've accidentally slept in to 8am, which is not an option since i have 6am pills to take ;)

I just bought mine today not knowing all these other benefits attached to it. I got it to accompany my other throw. When i bought it, i straight way knew i wasn't gonna use it to put directly on my skin. I can't stand certain feels on my skin, so i used mine the same way you all use yours. I have the one blanket for skin comfort and the weighted blanket as reinforced warmth due to its weight. Right now I.m satisfied.

btw that's so crazy that it takes you an hour to fall asleep! kinda feel bad for you. I usually fall asleep in 2 minutes. and yeah, heat regulation is also crucial, to be on the cooler side, and certainly not overheating. so it's not only the weight helping, as you said as well. btw you should probably get separate blankets

During the night, my wife repeatedly fights with 'her set', becomes sheetless, then re-wraps herself, etc. while I wake up in the morning in the same position I fell asleep in. Since two beds was out of the question for both of us, we had to do something...Since then, bliss. So we look like two cocoons on a bed.

It's meant to wrap around your body in a perfect stress-relieving cocoon. We recommend getting this one even if you are sleeping on a Queen bed (it will reach the edges)." And that way you can get a lower weight when it's just for one person and not shared.

Sometimes my girlfriend does not want the weight blanket on here. On these nights, I fold the weighted blanket in over on itself in half and put it over just me. It works just great! Plus I like the added weight it produces when you have two layers of the weighted blanket. Sometimes we use the blanket on the couch and a lot of it is spilling over onto the floor. We never notice it falling down because of this. Remember Amazon has a great return policy if it does not work for you! Best of luck! If you get one, please let me know how it goes!

Directions say on the blanket to machine wash and dry and this is what we do. I haven't had any trouble with my washer or dryer handling this blanket. I typically only wash the blanket by itself in the washer and dryer. For the amount of clothes we wash at a time, I would say it's at least 15lbs of clothing. So this blanket is not an issue.

@@kiannacat9330 - Sorry to hear about your anxiety/depression. I have had bouts with both of those throughout my life as well. I know how it can get late at night. I am usually a night owl but find my thoughts increase late at night. So I am trying to get to bed around 11pm or midnight at the latest. I use my hot tub and drink Chamomile tea which both help me get to sleep fast. Cardiovascular exercise helps too!

The only con we have found is it makes it harder to get out of bed in the morning. When it is wet it is heavier but surprisingly doesn't feel that much heavier. My dryer seems to do just fine with it.

We usually use it for one month on, one month off. It works amazingly well and putting us to sleep and keeping us asleep. But because of it's weight, it makes it incredibly hard to have the will to get out from under it in the morning when your so content. From others we have talked to, they say the same thing.
