Bill Maher and "Weird Al" Yankovic randomly riff on why Bill moved from his first house, Al’s birthday gift from his wife, the most common joke in a writers’ room, the famous people who went to Al’s high school, the making of the new Weird Al biopic “Weird,” Sacheen Littlefeather’s awful treatment by the Hollywood establishment after she accepted the Oscar for Marlon Brando, the movie Quentin Tarantino has to make, and Al’s strict rules for life on his tour bus.

He’s straight laced- doesn’t do drugs or even smoke weed, and never has. He said he’s been drunk a few times in his life but very rarely. Oh, but remember, it is not an interview, just a "Spontaneous 'Hi, how are ya?'" with a person that Bill is supposed to know and with whom he just wants to kick back, roll a few, imbibe a few, and chew the fat in a Peter-Maxx-style sanctuary. Except that Bill often does most of the chewing, feeding from the same self-mulch trough weekly.

Weird Al is a very intelligent guy. Too many people underestimate him, and see him as "just" a guy who does take-offs on other peoples' songs, which he is *great* at, and famous for, *but* he also writes original material, too, that is often sharp and hilarious. Unfortunately, in this discussion, Al didn't have much of a chance to show his wit and smarts, because he was trying to navigate Bill at his very stoned worst.

Here's the big difference between Al and Bill. If Al wasn't famous, Bill would have nothing to do with him. He'd find him an annoying, insecure dweeb and would mock him.
@curbozerboomer1773

@@curbozerboomer1773 to me they seem to have almost nothing in common. Al is a sincerely nice guy who is playing along in order to fit in to what is otherwise a really uncomfortable and foreign environment for him. Look at the way he is hunched forward in the seat the whole time. He is neither relaxed nor comfortable. But he's on a movie promo tour and this is part of the job.
