That headphone story reminded me of that story from r/askreddit where they asked people who have killed in self defense how they feel about it, and a dude told the story of when he almost didnt hear his wife getting raped because of his noise cancelling headphones - he found out ten minutes into the rape and went down and shot the dude. Anyway so that's a horrifying story. Watch out for those noise cancelling headphones, people.

Yup, the rape had been going on for about ten minutes by the time there was a lull in his game and he heard muffled crying, and a mans voice. Got up, grabbed his gun, dude had his wife at knife point and was raping her and saying he'd hurt their infant daughter too, when the rapist heard someone coming up behind him he spun around and OP shot him twice, and almost got in legal trouble for killing the guy. You can read more stories if you google "redditors who have killed in self defense" it's a dark but extremely interesting thread.

Yeah, usually when someone gets hit so hard their shoes come off it isn't a good thing, there's a lot of force involved and they can get hurt very badly or even be killed. When I was in high school a homeless man tried to walk across the highway. As we watched a car hit and killed him. His shoes stayed at the impact spot but his body flew about 50 feet away. Poor man, I hope he died on impact and didn't feel it.
