Just found your channel by chance. Interesting & excellent presentation. Was hoping you might have featured Attersee (a) because it’s the largest lake & , (b) I’m an Englishman living by the lake ! You have, however, produced some of the best travel docs. on this region that we ( English & Austrian) have seen. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much! That really means a lot. We really try to show stuff that isn’t talked about too much on travel KZbin. 🥰 We really loved our trip here, and are hoping to come back to make more videos. We just didn’t have enough time to visit Attersee. Next time!

6:42 it's the river Traun flowing into the lake, so that's fine ;-) As for transportation options: the tram system in Gmunden with connection across the river is brand new. There has been a very short tram line without further connection between the railway station and town centre before, but now all trains run through to the Traunsee railway and you can reach the mainline by changing trains at Vorchdorf as well.

Hi. Would you recommend Gmunden/Traunsee for a female solo traveler? I was considering Hallstatt, and I would stay over-night if I can, but then I watched your video about the over-tourism and feel unsure. My plan was to go to Salzburg and then Hallstatt, but now seeing your videos of these towns has me reconsidering. Also, do you think it's possible to take public transportation to Gmunden/Traunsee from Salzburg instead of renting a car? Thanks for your advice, and great videos!

I’d recommend those places to anyone who finds them interesting! Is there anything specific from a solo female perspective that you are looking for? There is a train from Salzburg that goes straight to Gmunden. Traunsee you could reach by boat if you plan things nicely. I would also recommend looking into the Schafbergbahn video, as the lake, village, and mountain views make for a great Salzburg day trip.

Not going to miesweg via car was a good choice. there is very little parking space there. We were lucky and found a spot within 15 minutes walking distance, but many have to park quite far away.

Woooo. Good to know we accidentally made the correct choice. We were going back and forth for so long about how to get there hahah

@@NearFromHome It's more interesting than it sounds, my nephew got interested in civil engineering and forgot all the samurai/ninja-stuff he was into when he first visited 😉
