Stories about child predators of any kind always make my blood boil-even more so than stories about other criminals. The amount of trauma that puts on a person… that person usually grows up to need years of therapy and would honestly rather be dead on so many occasions. My friend’s Boy Scouts troop leader was sentenced to 30 years in prison for taking pictures of the troop changing/showering/etc. when they were on camping trips. He would then post the pictures to some child p*rn site. The fact he didn’t get life will never make sense to me but, to flash forward, my friend is now too afraid to admit that he’s a part of the LGBT+ community. He gets very uncomfortable around it because he feels it’s related to trauma in some way. I don’t know how to better explain that, but it has caused him such terrible grief (he developed an eating disorder at some point in high school too); it hurts knowing that people are just out here abusing children because they hold an ounce of authority, using it to manipulate others.

It would give you an idea as to their developing stages. I think also experience is the only way you can recognize abnormal or concerning behaviour. Its usually normal for kids to say perverted or odd things at that age but if they are overtly sexual it shouldn't be ignored. Again working in the field you gain a sense for what is appropriate and when your intuition is saying otherwise. Best of luck!

That second grade story awakened a memory i’ve been repressing... there were these weird siblings that our friend group knew, and by weird i mean i won’t be surprised if i see one of them on the news as a convicted serial killer one day. Anyways, one time a kid in our friend group was moving so all these families came over to help with the move and their family was there. We were all just being regular kids and having lightsaber fights and what not until the siblings found a towel that wasn’t packed and brought it to the corner of the room. They proceeded to get undressed and then peed on the towel. And yes, if your wondering, i don’t believe i have fully recovered from this experience... P.s. i once stayed over at their house years later and they gave me the knock-off Cinnamon Toast Crunch and i started eating small bits of it before they gave me the milk. It wasn’t as sweet at the regular kind i realized and noticed it was 25% less sugar so i just shrugged it off, until one of the pre-milk pieces was straight up wet. No one can convince me that one of them wasn’t licking the sugar off in the middle of the night. Walking by the knock-off cereal in stores still gives me ptsd.
