honestly I hope the girl who got EDS is okay... there's different types (some more severe than others) but it can be a really deadly debilitating disease like that story is insane

I hope she’s alright too. It’s really fucked up that that the other girl gave her a drink of her coffee when she knew she had mono. Smh I feel bad for her
@someoneidk3082 жыл бұрын
Yeah I got mono once (also pretty bad- had to go to the ER to get an antibiotic shot in my ass bc I was screaming in pain) and my hearing has never been the same. Plus my tonsils and lymph nodes are constantly swelling. It's been years. Don't give other people mono. Stay home. It's no joke :(. I'm just glad I didn't get EDS.

I have EDS too, but I’m just letting you know there are different types of EDS. It’s not always just flexible joints. Some people are on feeding tubes for the rest of their lives! Connective disuse disorders affect all parts of the body, but the type of EDS you have can make you have more “problem areas.” Personally, I have more issue with my joints and stomach. Some people have problems with their lungs. It all just depends

My heart sunk at that EDS story--- Ehlers-Danlos syndrom runs in my family. My mom, sister, and I have it and it's awful. Thankfully mine isn't as disabling as some types, even though I have a thyroid disease that definitely worsened it. The scary thing about having it so young is knowing that it will get worse with time. But I'm happy when I see people learning about it!

Been born with h-EDS and its not really as miserable as you can find it described online unless it's one of the more severe diagnoses/chronic - you're just really flexible, stretchy, and super soft skin which does very much bruise and cut easily although there's a lot of joint pain and discomfort (also takes way longer to heal than regular people and can cause permanent damage in joints/ligaments from very basic sprains + there are cases where it causes mutations in your body that basically gives you a different type of collagen though I'm not sure if this is only for a few or for everyone) - there are different levels of EDS and depending on that sort of implicates whether you actually need medical assistance because otherwise it can be seen as a 'mild annoyance' throughout day-to-day-life :) Edit: this is just a brief description btw - not anything in-depth

this was the video that made me seek info about eds and i’m so grateful. in the past i’d been to multiple doctors with eds pain so bad i couldn’t move, but they never found a cause (despite having textbook symptoms) and the medical gaslighting was insane… lol growing up i was told i just had a lower pain tolerance than most people. i feel so bad for that girl, but i’m so grateful she shared her story/noel took a minute to look into it. that info changed my life for the better, and i have a lot more support now 🦓❤
