i think the is using it as an AC but wants the force of the fan on the external units. country folk are used to having tabletop/floor standing fans. and given that some parts of China does have snow, that model probably has the coolant switch to allow it to act as a bi-directional heat pump.

5:21 I know it's funny thinking the Pedal Wheel chair would be useless, but after laughing for 10 minutes straight I searched for it and it's actually made for people with mobility problems on the spine but that can still use their feet, but have problems standing up or people that are in mobility recovery.

I've had several knee surgeries. That wheelchair actually would have helped so much. My knees could bend shortly after surgery, it was weight bearing that caused trouble. Could also be good for back trouble.

For the AC one, they might have been using it as an improvised heat pump - the only difference between a proper heat pump/reverse cycle unit and a more traditional split system AC is a reversing valve, so if you were confident you only needed heating (eg cold climate) and got a good deal I can see that making sense
