Guys please do your research! Whitening is not always bleaching! In many Asian countries it’s used to describe brightening products, meaning products with ingredients like niacinamide and vitamin c, that brighten a dull complexion. I have seen a few actually bleaching Asian beauty products, and that is, of course, horrible. It makes me so sad that many Asian women are told that they need to bleach their skin in order to be beautiful. But often, the phrase whitening is used for products that aren’t bleaching. My point: do your research and don’t be afraid of ”weird” products! Some of my favorite skincare items are from South Korea, and they are amazing! Lots of love 💖
@nicolesmyk68026 жыл бұрын
klara f thanks for putting this out here! I went straight to the comments when I heard the word whitening and just assumed that they are bleaching products. I just felt like the way she was saying whitening was too weird for it to actually be for bleaching.
@kumiborboa82926 жыл бұрын
klara f - girl, word!!! In our culture, the lighter the skin, the more glamorous and, truth be told, the ingredients are often times “better for you” than some more modern brands who promote “whitening”. Vitamin K, for example, is used in place of lab made retinol.
@Duuwollop6 жыл бұрын
in this case, it DOES mean inhibiting melanin production! just like you said to do your research, you should too! Go look up the active ingredient in the Donkey Milk essence. Literally is for WHITENING.

Yessss. It also means removing sun tan or sun damage by skin renewal
@chocolattarte44936 жыл бұрын
Also just because none of these products are bleaching products (and IDK who you're talking for because nobody here actually bleaches their skin) doesn't mean they aren't meant to make your skin lighter- they are. They're not meant to brighten the complexion I mean some are called "white elixir" and "beautiful white" and so forth. To Asians, white skin is beautiful, dark skin is ugly- get over it.

I’m so happy to hear you talk about ethical tourism. People don’t realize how unethical tourism can be in Asia and people need to look into where they’re going while on vacation. Elephants aren’t meant to be ridden, it’s really bad for their backs and can cause a multitude of physical problems after a while.

Finally! Never thought that Thai's products will be shown in your channel. If you look for cheap but good local brand; Mistine, Cute Press, Sri Chand are my recommends. So far, for me, our make up trend separates into 2 trends, Korean (white, clean, dewy and blend out lips) and Western (tan, bronze, heavy contour/highlights, dark and sharp eyebrows and smokey eyes).

@MrSteveGrey6 жыл бұрын
@@lauraa5331 Hun, I mean absolutely no disrespect but you seriously need to look at the dairy industry. Just because something is organic that doesn't mean its better. All organic means really is not using certain kinds of chemicals and pesticides in or on your products. It's does not refer to the ethics of harvesting milk. You still have to artificial inseminate the cows and take the calf away at an absurdly young age and the cows still get pumped full of hormones, steroids and antibiotics.
@lauraa53316 жыл бұрын
MrSteveGrey I know how cows are treated. That’s why I avoid dairy and when I have it I buy organic products. I live in France and our agriculture is very different from the one in the US, even if I am aware it is not perfect. I haven’t decided to stop dairy at the moment so I just do my best to buy from brand that seem more ethical to me

Mistines is original Thai brand, but sadly it's not popular among Thai teens. Glad to see you you trying this brand out and enjoying your stay in Thailand. Sending love from Thailand💞 P.S. yeah it really sucks about the elephant sanctuary, Thai ppl don't really like going to there that much either.
It's not that it's not popular more like it's not widely available, untill 1-2 years ago there's nowhere to buy mistine around my university, so yeah . And while there is Eve and boy near my U now it don't have much, only some press powder that is wayyyyyyyy lighter for me to use. I'm like praying for more product cause I don't want to guess my foundation shade and then have to sell it 2 nd hand online.

Tati, I am a fan of yours from Thailand. (my dad thought I went crazy). Thank youso much for this video. I know you’ve got a lot of comments but I hope you see this. The brand you got are mostly the brands that they recommended the tourists. Could I recommend you some more brands? There are many more Thai local Brands that is not well known to many people or tourists as they are not available in touristy shop or area but very popular among make up lovers in Thailand! so if you come back again here are some local brands/small brands with nice quality and friendly prices (some of them you might have already seen or have but I hope you could recommend more for you!) And I hope you have a chance to get and try them! most of them are sold at the shop called Eve and Boy which is around Siam/ Siam Paragon(in BKK) area The Brands are -Archita Cosmetic -Xoxo cosmetic (their liquid lipstick and blush is very affordable and pretty!) -Lady Audrey (Powder/pressed powder) -Cute Press -4U2 -Srivana(amazing eyeshadow!) -Cheva -nani so matte there is this place call Castle C at the mall called Fashion Island in BKK that sell only Thai brands cosmetics and most of their products are amazing so if you want to try more of Thai cosmetics I highly recommend you go there! I am so sorry for the long comment and weirdly long list of make up recommend to make up (to a make up guru as well haha) and i am sorry if you know about all of these already and this turn in to a spam comment. I bought a guide book to Thailand months ago because I wanted to visit temples and meditate, eat good food, and possibly meet my favorite Thai actors! But makeup?? Now I really really have to go! I've always known Thai makeup is good because they manufacture Maybelline products for Southeast Asia (I live in the Philippines), but their local brands look so promising!!! I love you Tati, and I love you Thailand!!!

Greetings from Thailand. Actually, I have no idea about some of the cosmetics you showed here. Good eye opener for locals as well. I’m skeptical sometimes about strange ingredients, like I’ll never try anything with donkey milk. And thank you for the ethical tourism promo. We need more of your kind of tourists.

Bronzers are not popular in Asia because they are into being as white as snow skin here. But highlighter, yes I think we do, but glittery and chunky ones..

I’m so glad you discussed ethical tourism, it’s so important that tourists are aware that tigers etc are not treated well in order for them to be docile and cuddly. I love tigers in particular and would love to touch one but I respect them enough to know that could not happen without them suffering in some way and I’m not down with that. Great video as always, I find your videos lovely and calming ❤️

When I was in Aruba I got a couple of things. One is this amazing moisturizer I use daily that is super hydrating, nonoily, removes lines. The weird thing is they use it medically, especially in the hospital for burn victims. I guess it helps with the healing process & prevents scaring.
