Great boat ! I too have a bunch of different boats similar to Dave, both power and sail. I have a 1960 Kings Cruiser wooden sloop right now and another similar size powerboat. I like the Iconic brand of Cris Craft but the Marinette is a much better boat IMHO; because of the Aluminum hull and general design and build quality. Dave has a real Gem there. These old boats are a labor of love for sure ! You could have tied a fender to that anchor to swim it out... And used the same fender to mark the position of the anchor by adding a line to the anchor shackle.

Dang It! You're exactly right! Haha I'm kicking myself for not thinking about the fender solution. Thanks for watching and sharing your ideas!

I wouldn’t say “Its a better boat” than the vintage Chris Crafts. The 70’s Christ Craft are nearly unsurpassed in build quality. Including solid fiberglass hulls, (no wooden core), hollow finerglass stringers etc.. Fantastic boats. And CC also made an aluminum hull Roamer, (as is Marienette) but also in steel hull and wooden as well. Marinette is a nice boat, but its not a Chris Craft. Just my opinion.

The best part of this video is how it opened my eyes to how there are more worthy boats besides Chris Craft.

Oh my god is this lake Lanier? That’s where we are! Y’all got gas at our marina! Is that where he keeps it? I’ve seen the boat on the lake before! Beautiful boat. There’s a boat on holiday marina v dock(I think) that is this massive beautiful Chris craft that someone obviously loved for years with a plaque in front of it on the dock. But it’s covered in cobwebs and appears almost abandoned. I’d like to hear the story on that one.

gorgeous boat and gorgeous area. I can barely afford gas to cruise around in my car let alone a huge cruiser but Id love to join you one day on the St Johns
@CullenCraft2 жыл бұрын
This was definitely not on the St Johns lol. A little farther north and inland. Nothing but brown water and toxic algae blooms around here. But the dream lives on!

Love the Marionettes, I was just looking at one for sale on Easter Sunday. Sadly it's beyond my capabilities but hopefully the right person is just behind me to take it back to it's former glory.

If you're saying this boat was or is for sale... You're wrong.
@mikehlavinka2964 Жыл бұрын
@@CullenCraft no not that one. The one in your video looks to be in Bristol condition. There is a 32' for sale Virginia. Needs new paint top to bottom and cockpit deck replaced as well as new canvas, windless and refrigerator. I estimate repairs to be 20 to 30K plus price of the boat. The boat is only worth 30K max with repairs. Maybe someone who is extremely handy can save her.
@CullenCraft Жыл бұрын

Its always safe to assume 1 gpm on these old gas guzzlers. Maybe slightly more if you're careful and slow. This boat holds about 300 gallons.

Are these stable enough to do the great loop in or would it rock you too much?
@CullenCraft10 ай бұрын
Since it is a lighter boat it's going to move more than something fiberglass or steel. But it won't be dangerous in normal loop conditions. It's up to the owners preference/tolerance
@ryanrabdau56152 ай бұрын
So the older Chris crafts Have one engine that rotates counter clockwise? Or do both propellers turn the same direction?
@CullenCraft2 ай бұрын
The transmissions are gears to counter rotate
@ryanrabdau56152 ай бұрын
Ok. So engines spin the same but reduction gear is what controls the rotation of each propeller. I just got a 87 Chris craft 410 constellation
