Couple of observations here. 1. Jimmy's react videos are a gold mine of dopamine for me. Thank you so much for that. Never stop. Not only do you showcase amazing fan made things, but your personality is infectious. 2. SKIZZ. You're not just a dad to younger content creators. You're the dad that many of us out here in the fan base needed. You're the Arizona dad. The hermitcraft dad,but also the internet dad. Thanks for being here for us. I've heard someone on your streams tell you about something they're trying and the way you're supportive and encouraging while being a little serious or silly as needed makes me want to cry with joy. Because we all need that love and encouragement sometimes,and you just bubble over with it.

ik skizz doesn’t read comments, but when he says he feel proud that he is a dad to the younger group of hermits and honorary hermits, i don’t think he realises that he is a dad to a lot of the fandom. not to get all parasocial, but i lost my dad only a few days after i turned 12; he was my best friend. skizz has the same demeanour as my dad where he is very empathetic and wise but knows how to bring constant comedic relief. obviously skizz isnt my father, but he is my go to for fun times but with some valuable wisdom sprinkled in (which is a very dad like role). i also see a lot of myself in impulse and i obviously see a lot of my dad in skizz, so i wonder if there’s something about these two dynamics really meshing well with each other.

Also not only does it brown nicely without over cooking the bread, but also it doesn't make the bread soggy like butter does. When I did this, the people around me were so surprised by how nicely it turned out. I am still surprised that not many people know about this trick haha. Also, I have loved listening and watching to this podcast. It has been so great to hear everyone be very vulnerable and truthful while also still having fun and enjoying their time together. It is indeed super nice to be able to be silly and playful while also being 40+. I would never want to lose that part of myself! On the other hand, it’s also great to be able to support/hang out with younger people and have them benefit of what you’ve learned over the years. It’s not either/or in my opinion, it can totally be both. 😊 And many people ‘our age’ (around 40 that is) were the first to grow up with video games etc, and I do agree with what Jimmy says: it’s super nice to see people of that age still enjoying that and doing it for a living. I kind of prefer it over some of the content of the super young people out there, it’s often less hype and more wholesome (and still hilarious)

3:50 Normally I’d agree with Jimmy here but there is one egregious example of Jimmy being the butt of the joke where it stopped being funny and made Grian, Joel, and fWhip look like bullies. Their poor collective treatment of Jimmy during a March 27, 2022 Raft VOD was emphasized with the juxtaposition of Jimmy’s first stream with Skizz and Tango who treated Jimmy like a person who was wholly funny on his own (that Plate-Up stream made me go seek out more livestream Jimmy content which is why I ended up watching the Raft stream VOD). It was so bad Jimmy had to address his chat while muted to the others and say he was fine with it a hour into the stream. He was under pressure because he was seeing chat comments he didn’t like saying his friends were bullies. He was not smiling and laughing. Then in a few minutes he decided to address it with mute off and it was so awkward because the guys didn’t know how serious it had gotten on Jimmy’s stream so they continued to make jokes while Jimmy tries to save them from themselves desperately saying we’re all friends here. Otherwise, I understand the comedy in there being the butt of the joke but it’s quick to become stale even if the botj is comfortable with it. Skizz being introduced into the Guess the Build series is precisely the reason why that series is still fresh though it has become stale again. I gave advice on Skizz’ episode on how to easily fix that so I won’t get into it here.

The food perception in america is because so much food is so heavily processed over there and it tastes odd and the texture is weird if you are used to things being less processed and more natural. Going to an american grocery store was a real shock to me because the fresh produce sections were so tiny in comparison to the rest of the store full of processed foods. Even reading labels on things that would be considered pretty healthy over here was eye opening in just how much extra sugar and filler was put into things.
@michelleauch7907 ай бұрын
The thing with American food... this country is HUGE by a Brit's standards. Every state and even different parts of the same state all have foods and styles of cooking that are unique to every region. To say you've been to America twice, to two specific areas, and wasn't a big fan of the food, makes me respond with "you just haven't had the right stuff yet." I mean I live in New York and was shocked to learn my Texas friends didn't even know what Salt potatoes were!?!?! Anyway, so fun to learn more about Jimmy! Can't wait to see who you guys have on next!

Are Salt Potatoes not just potatoes with salt? I have not heard of this before.
@michelleauch7907 ай бұрын
@@nikkibrowning4546 So hard to describe... taken from google: "What's the difference between salt potatoes and regular potatoes? In the cooking process, the salty water forms a crust on the potato's skin and seals it which helps to prevent salt potatoes from tasting waterlogged as ordinary boiled potatoes sometimes do. As a result, salt potatoes have a unique texture that is similar to that of a baked potato." I guess google them, try cooking them. Just make sure to serve with lots of butter... yum!

3:06 I'd like to offer an explanation as to why some people get defensive on Jimmy's sake, or why some feel like the bit goes 'too far'. Look, intellectually, most (if not all) of us know that Jimmy is not actually getting bullied. We're aware it's a bit, friendly bantering, couple of lads just taking the mick. The issue is that it hits just a bit too close to home. It's so realistic that it reminds some of us of the actual bullying we've been subjected to. Which, on one hand, should be a (massive?) compliment! Jimmy (and Joel and Grian, given they're his usual 'tormentors') are so good at acting out that teasing/bullying bit that those of us who have actual experience with the matter find it extremely realistic! That makes them better than some movies and TV shows dealing with bullying, where the bullying depicted is sometimes just laughable. On the other hand, this might be one of the few situations where depicting something so realistically is actually more of a hindrance than an achievement, because it reminds some of extremely painful memories. To illustrate, I'll give a personal example: the 'Toy' bit from Empires Season 2. I'll be straight up and say that I had to stop watching Empires Season 2, and even Jimmy's content altogether, because of that bit. Because it was much too similar to actual bullying I had to endure. I won't go into great detail, but suffice it to say: much like depicted in the 'Toy' bit, I was made fun of for my name and for something very dear and personal to me. And despite asking them to stop, telling teachers and in the end even playing along with it in the hopes they'd get bored of it, it only stopped when I moved on to a different school. It went on for about an entire school year. I was 13. And the 'Toy' bit between Jimmy and Joel was just too similar to it for me to stomach. Jimmy's repeated and ignored request for Joel to stop, others joining in, the (played up, I am aware) annoyance at the Toy Story references in his base, it all constantly reminded me of that severe bullying. Which, in the end, lead to me being unable to enjoy anything from Empires Season 2; not even the crossover. (Which, sidenote, I am not blaming Jimmy for. It is the direction he clearly wanted to go towards, else he would've resolved this bit with Joel much sooner if he truly didn't like it. I just did what I had to in order to feel comfortable myself; stop consuming content that I did not enjoy. Nothing bad about it, on both sides.) And that is what trips many of us up. When we're here on KZbin, we're here for escapism usually. To forget about the worries, have some fun and laugh along with content creators. Not to be reminded of the bullying we went through, or are (perhaps) still going through. It makes what is supposed to be fun into something hard to watch. What is sometimes the best part in others videos (interaction with others) is sometimes the hardest to watch in Jimmy's. Because of the near constant reminder of bullying. Even if Jimmy and everyone else involved do not experience it as bullying, many of us who have gone through it read it as bullying. And it's a very uncomfortable reminder. Now, I'm not writing this to tell Jimmy to change his content. Furthest from it; it's *his* content, he is an adult with full autonomy, he can do whatever he wants. If he's satisfied with it and it makes him happy - which sounds like it, which is wonderful - he should keep it up. This is just meant to shed some light on why some of us still get very uncomfortable with the bit. Even if we're aware it's just a bit. It just hits a bit too close to home. Anyways. Long rant aside, I hope my words resonated with some. And, if by any chance, Jimmy ever reads this, he now has a greater understanding of why some people might go on the defense.

Jimmy, you can often use fresh dry erase markers to help get old marker off. Use the fresh marker to scribble very heavily over the old stuff, then wipe off. Dry erase markers are also alcohol-based, so you can use rubbing alcohol/sanitizer/sanitizing wipes to clean it off. Only thing you don't want to do is take anything abrasive to it (scrub pad, magic eraser, etc) because it can damage the whiteboard surface. (Take it from a librarian!) Love all three of you!

Skizz, in reference to you liking to make people laugh, I just wanna say I watch all the hermits for a different reason. I watch some for building, some for nerdiness (Tango), and some just for the vibes. I watch Skizz videos to LAUGH my butt off for 20-30 minutes. There is rarely a video that I don’t cry of laughter. Please never stop being you.

The picture of Skizz is not bad at all. You look like every rocker I went to school with in the 90s. LOL, but we are similar ages and into similar music so that tracks. But no reason to be embarrassed by it at all. Fun to see a pic of young Skizz.

Hi guys ! I listen the podcast on spotify and wanted to say hi ! I really enjoy every episode. I have a constructive comment to make for skizz. With the guests, it would be nice to hear more from them. Skizz can take all the space sometimes when we actually want to know what the guest would have said. For a podcast, when you have guests, it would be nice to have more open questions and after that let them talk for a bit. Don't get me wrong, I love the way skizz talks about things but with more introvert guest, we can hear more skizz talking than the actual guest. Lots of love 💚💚 keep keeling it !! 🤘🏻

Question. For editing, was there skips, in the audio tracks,?, Because it was either my connection to my own signal/ wi-Fi for buffering, making audio skips, or was it something wrong with the player on KZbin?
@jordansuper11057 ай бұрын
I noticed this too when I was watching and listening. It could be some skips due to deleting certain names or words or it could've been on Jimmy's connection that his audio kept skipping a bit.

I was heavily judging the grilled cheese description lol! Butter inside? Butter is for helping it not to stick and the brown crispiness on the outside! Personally I think there’s no use for butter inside the sandwich, if I’m using butter it’s purely for its usefulness. But maybe there’s something I’m missing who knows lol
