Nice to see your perspective of China.Before coming to China,the media coverage on China l had come across was usually negative.Many people in my country including me mistakenly believed that China was a poor country,where there was only oppression without freedom.But when l came to China,l found China is AMAZING! l dare say China is better than the West in many ways.Modernization,convenience,hospitality,safety,all of these has left a positive impression on me. All your medias only lie to your people. Many of the reporters that write the reports of China have never been to China. They do that is because they are paid by your government to brainwash your people to hate China just because they can't compete with China of what the Chinese government have provided to the people and country. Like the infrastructures, the safety of the people, better education, health care and many more. Another word to say is they are jealous of China achievements. I have even read about some Americans even asked doesn't China high rise buildings have electricity and lift?

A Swiss female friend had come to India with a plan to travel around the country for about 6 months. Her first destination was Delhi where she'd planned to stay for 2 weeks. I took her around when I could but couldn't be with her each day. She stayed for about 9-10 days and decided to return home! She told me she didn't feel confident traveling alone in India. Never have I felt more ashamed. We have so much more to do to be a great tourist destination. It will take us decades more to get there even if we started working on them. Unfortunately, things won't change unless the people do. And that's not gonna happen any time soon. We don't even admit to ourselves that we as a society aren't safe for solo female travelers. There's no solution to a problem that isn't there. Admitting it would be the first step to work towards a solution for it.

In China, there are over 20 cities that has population over 5 millions. Totally over 200 millions people are living in big cities. But in India, although the total population are more than China. But just 7 cities have population over 5 millions. That explains why there is difference. But of course, not only India, even UK and USA, both just have only 1 city, the capital city, that has population over 5 millions. So perhaps China is unique, other countries don't need to follow China at all. But that doesn't mean only dictatorship can control that many mega cities in a country.

China is 3.22 times bigger than India in size, that's a part of the reason why China has more cities.

If India is 3.22 times smaller than China, then India should have more dense population, hence more mega cities, isn‘t? If China is 3.22 times smaller in land size, China will have at least 40 mega cities, even more. You will find a mega city every 500 km.😂

India in 2023 has 37% urban population. China in 2023 has 72% urban population. Considering almost same population in both countries, approx 525 million people live in Indian cities which is half compared to 1.025 billion people living in chinese cities. BTW India has 9 cities above 5 million people, delhi-33, mumbai-27, kolkata-20, bangalore-14, hyderabad-12, chennai-12, ahemdabad-11, pune-9, surat-9 million respectively. And china has 3-4 very big urban agglomerations where almost 30% of chinese population lives. This cannot work in India. India at peak needs 60 cities with more than 5 million population, barring the first 9 India already has 60 cities with population 1-5 million which need to be developed to sustain over 5 million people. Delhi and mumbai urban agglomerations cannot sustain more than 50 million people. Yangtze river delta in china has 120 million people and pearl river delta has approx 90 million people. India will never have this size of urban regions. All of West and South Indian states has over 50% urbanization already. And the most densest states in India in the north and east are the most rural as well, however in china then most densest provinces are the most urbanized as well. This difference testifies that china style urbanization of creating few but large urban clusters lile yangtze and pearl delta will not work for India. China could do it because land in china is in complete control of its govt which is not the case with India where citizens have shared ownership on lands along with the government where it is also a participant in land ownership.
