Hi Denise. Your channel just popped up on my feed, not sure how, but I'm glad it did! Nice to meet you. I was born and raised in DC, moved to Maryland. I have been looking for the right instructor for this 66 year young lady and I think that I found her. I had a total shoulder replacement in 2022 so I cannot not do shoulder work. Are there substitutions that can be done when you are doing shoulder raises and the likes. I can do front work, and low side raises, but no overhead due to the implant. Also, I cannot do squats or lunges because they aggrevate my arthritic knees. Even a small squat is not good. I can do a sit to stand and I love a good deadlift! Thank you so much for all that you do. I'm so glad that you work with the Stability Ball. Love that!

Hi Beverly. I’m glad you found me also. Concerning your limitations, you can modify the exercises according to your range of motion. I agree that knee exercises can be challenging. When you sit you bend your knees so during squats just go as far as can as you do when you sit stand. Lunges aid in walking and climbing stairs. Just do a climbing motion when we perform lunges during class. The idea is to just keep moving as best you can. Always respect your range of motion when raising your arms. No need to modify, just go as high as you can. Shoulder height is fine. I’ll be sure to mention that during class. Thank you for subscribing to my channel and I look forward to seeing you on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the live classes at 8:00 a.m. Upper body workouts on Tuesday and Legs on Thursday. Let me know how you’re doing and don’t hesitate ask any questions that you have. You can also reach me on Facebook at Get Fit with Denise Seated Exercise.
