Why don't you just find your own style and quit trying to be like the rest, that's a real mind blowing experience finding what you are and capable of. Santana told me once and I'll never forget it, go on a journey and find the notes, hunt for them

Because I like David Gilmour, and I want to play like him, I don’t play out, I’m not a professional and I do this for fun. So why don’t I find my own style? I’m not interested in starting a new style, I’m more than happy learning to play David Gilmour. Thanks for the comment and watching.. I do appreciate you.

How do I tell you, legendary guitarists and your fav guitarist who "found your own style", is heavily influenced by THEIR fav musicans. He wants to play like David Gilmour, all the more support I want to give. Santana is wrong, that's my opinion.

Another predictable comment, "Find your own style and set the world ablaze!", "I want to be the very BEST ME not XXXX because that's just got copying...' or the classic," I don't play other people's songs, I write my own while I work full time cleaning toilets" etc 😊

Beautiful guitar. I spent 30 years trying to unlock David Gilmours technique and style. This is due to having no internet back in the day and not understanding the very basics of how he gets his sound. Shine On is a great starting place. You will learn all the bends, rakes and arpeggios David used to hallmark his style. My advice? Get an MXR dynacomp, an overdrive pedal and set it to just a smidge of drive. After that buy an MXR script phase 90. (the script version is the only one you should get as its phasing is very smooth). This will get you most of the tones from the Wish You Were Here album. The pedals will also help sculpt your sound a bit better so your hands will need to do less work. Particularly with the MXR dynacomp. Take your time and wallow in that strat neck pick up. Who cares about developing your own sound when you can feel the ultimate satisfaction of walking in David Gilmours sonic shoes! Its gonna be great! 😎

Hey you should check out my video called “let’s check out my music room” I go over what stuff I have.. at the moment My pedal board setup is MXR Dynacomp-TS9 Tube Screamer-Big Muff Pi-MXR Prime Distortion-MXR Phase 95 comes with phase 90/95 with the script change-Boss CH-1-Gamma Warm Delay-Boss RC-1 Loop- into VOX AC10… He is a master bender! I tried learning starting in January with the gauge string he uses and my fingers were shredded… went to a lighter gauge for awhile now I’m playing his 10-48 boomers, with no problems… I have no interest in writing my own music, I love jamming with my friends and just having fun.. I love the neck and the bridge pickups on the Strat! I started putting the 5 way between position 5/4 gives a little different sound kinda cool… thanks so much for the conversation and watching I really appreciate it.. I try and respond asap but I’m a pool guy and it’s pool Closing season in Nj! Thanks again for being here!

I was in a world of hell selling Lego for about three years. I had a KZbin channel with over 1000 people I had a store I had an online store I dealt with so many people in so much crap and so much toxicity. I was so happy to sell off every bit of Lego. I had an invest at all into guitar equipment, amplifiers pedals my own musical endeavor of learning to play the music that is brought me so much joy throughout my life I believe Neil Young summed it up the best in his song “I am a child”to quote “you can’t conceive of the pleasure in my smile” Thank you so much for for stopping by to watch listen comment it really means a lot to me and I really appreciate you

Well , good luck with you're guitar playing journey , i have played shine on with my band and gilmour / floyd is one of my favorites when it comes to music , the strat looks great so have fun , shine on will take some time to learn though , the best way to go is to learn it bit by bit and then string it together later on . Greetings from Holland .

Exactly what I’ve been doing bit by bit. I’ve been taking about 4 to 8 bars at a time and just working through it. I’m now on day 73 of learning and I’ve got the whole song down minus the sack solo at the end it’s still coming along but I should have it completed within the next few months I’d say very nicely. I certainly love David Gilmore, leave a link to your band you’re more than welcome. Thanks so much for watching and listening and commenting. It really means a lot to me. Have a great weekend.

Hey, thanks so much for stopping by checking out what I got going on taking a listen and see what you think. Yeah I’m I’m into a lot of music not just David Gilmour, but I’m kind of into learning his specific style of lead playing for right now, as I found throughout my life, I’ve always tried to be a very fast guitar player, and I feel like learning David Gilmour has really taught me to slow down and I think slowing down is a big key to learning properly. I’m having a great time. I hope you as well do really well I’m 44 so it’s not like you’re starting really late I’ve been playing for a while, but nothing near Leeds of any sort, thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. Good luck on your journey. I use to play. Back in 2015 I started to re-learn how to play lefty. It's been a long journey & I'll never play like I use to but it's fun & you're right anything is possible & anyone can learn. I started my Intro/Riff lessons for other beginners. Too many guitar teachers forget they were beginners at one time. When you know something you tend to fly through things.

Why did you stop? Did you loose a limb? Or accident? Play lefty, we all know some epic lefty players…I really watched shine on you so many times and said no way I’ll get this, and the more time and slow progress I put in the more I get out… I’ve never taken a lesson, and I wanted to but my brother in law and father taught me some basics.. it’s amazing to have this much love for music! @@LearningGilmour It was an accident that caused me to stop playing. I seen some people worse off then me playing & thought I should try. In the beginning being everything's backward it's like I didn't know chords or where anything is at. I am self taught as well. I can't read music but a lot of players can't. I never thought I'd strum it's a strange feeling. Palm muting is really hard but it's fun takes your mind off things. I loved music since I was a kid. You're doing great & sounding great! I enjoyed watching the progress you made in a short time. If you're into Queen I have a video up that shows how to make a Treble Booster that would go sweet with that Vox. Very simple circuit.

What do you mean the bridge pickup is the wrong type? I’m using an HSS? Gilmour played both the SSS and the HSS .. but yes his black strat was 3 single fat 50s.. @@LearningGilmour Actually dude I was teasing a bit because you has HSS Strat. 😁 My HSS Strat has a pullout knob switch that turns the humbucker into a single coil, so it can give more Stratty sounds when needed. It is really worth adding that mod if you dont have it. It just runs the front coil of the bucker (coils furthest from bridge) which is a similar position to a Strat bridge pickup (mostly).
