You know, people do change and grow with time. I had the pleasure of meeting Rob Chapman about 4 or 5 years ago at NAMM. He was very friendly and absolutely cool. It seems to me that he still is that same person. Maybe not quite as zany, but he's older now. I personally enjoy his videos a lot.

Rob Chapman, whom I've been following for many years experienced his music career much in the way all other people do. His energy level, though still there has has matured to where he seems more involved with the bigger picture of what we know as the world of music. It seems that through the years "Chappers" has met more and more people in the music industry and as you become accepted as part of an expanded community of great people you may have once and maybe continue to emulate, you mature, you watch, and you become what those other people have come to love about Rob. He's got his own line of guitars now and he's doing whatever it is that fulfills his life to the maximum. Rob, from one Rob (guitarist as well) to another, keep it up pal. You're becoming a seasoned ambassador for a large group of really gifted and cool artists. Blaze Bro, Blaze ! ! ! 🤘

I watched a few other NAMM videos, and it was kinda sad, like seeing an old friend towards the end. Your video though was like a celebration with an old friend and as a fan and follower for over a decade (Dorje rules!).... I worked for Aria guitars and the West Coast distributor for VOX way back in 1986 and I have gone to MANY NAMM shows! (back when it was in New Orleans).... Thank you for taking the sadness away. Your familiar voice and obvious enthusiasm was good to hear.

I gotta ask if anyone knows the deal with those squiggly upper register frets on the pink/purple GNG at 7:52 in the video. How on earth do you play those?! I would have liked to see Chappers demo them! “Hey Chapper’s fingers: dance! 🔫🕺🏻🔫🕺🏻🔫” 😂😂😂 Like who could play those and why do they make me feel like I’m having a stroke when I look at them, lol? I’m sure squiggly frets serve a functional purpose, but I surely never saw anything like them. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ I’d never be able to play this guitar, though I’d definitely wear it as a kick ass fashion accessory! 🎸🤘🏻
@RobChappers2 жыл бұрын
Hi, they are pre-intonated frets so that every note should be perfectly in tune - I have never actually tried playing on them :-)
@MashaT222 жыл бұрын
@@RobChappers you think the company would be willing to send you one of those models to demo how to play such unique frets? I’ve seen this guitar once before on social media and wondered whether it’s difficult to play squiggly frets and/or if it requires any special technique. I can’t be the only one wondering that! It looks really intimidating to play, but I can totally understand the concept behind them now that you clarified the purpose. I hope you’ll reach out to the company and ask if they’d be willing to collaborate on a video. I mean, if someone didn’t know better and just picked up this same guitar to play at a shop, he might think he had a few too many! 🍺🍹🥃🥂🍸🍻🍾🧉If the customer commented about the squiggly frets to the shop staff, they’d respond, “What are you talking about, dude?! Those frets are totally straight!” 🤣🤣🤣
