🤨 💭 Hmmm, people wondering why other ethnic groups HATE/DISLIKE Black🇺🇸. I know some West Indies & African parents forbid their children to start a family with African American. GREED-SELFISHNESS-COMPLETE DISREGARD & DISRESPECT FOR others… + They’re proud being called: GANGSTERS They are lack of: - Prestige - Support - Pride - Encouragement - Standard - Moral - Image - Education - Authority - Respect - Responsibility - Discipline - etc… WHY IS IT ALWAYS BLACK NEIGHBORHOOD?

The thing is most of these people don’t work or if they do it’s selling drugs or robbing people that would be a “job”. I live in central Louisiana and it’s not like this. They do have murders in a few towns quite often but that is the whole country that has problems like that. If you’re in Louisiana the worst place you can go is New Orleans if you value your life.

I can’t help but think they have the ability to change their neighborhoods if they wanted too. They are the ones occupying them yet they’re warning people to stay away. Why? If I got to worry about stopping at your gas station then maybe you’re the problem. But I’ve never lived like this and don’t understand the lifestyle. I just wish these guys could see that they’re being kept down. Sometimes you gotta change your own life and stop believing that you are what people say you are. I appreciate this channel and opportunity to look into a different culture than I’m used to. These guys are all valuable and capable in some way or another they just don’t believe it. I pray God will show them how much better life could be if they’d stop believing what society tells them. Good work man! You have a great responsibility and opportunity to impact the lives of these people. God bless you in your work to bring these neighborhoods to light.

I'm from Dallas and I remember going to NO about 2-3 times a year back in the late 80's earlier 90's because my kids mom was born there but raised in Dallas. I remember the East being pretty descent until after Katrina. I remember b4 they demolished the Florida and Desire projects . Her family was from all over, West Bank, St Bernard, 7th ward, Franklin area, lower 9th wards . I remember when the projects were at war with each others. I haven't been in an minute but that small grocery store off 10 and Tulane had the bomb po'boys. It's some good folks down there but when the state gov't don't put money in the city or investor down invest then things get hectic and frustrating .

The east is basically the (new) uptown. Once they tore all the projects down, everybody migrated back there. Not to say uptown is a cake walk nowadays, but it’s only a shell of what it was in the 90s. Downtown is known to get it in as well. In the east, you literally could feel the crime in the air when you cross the high rise. It’s really sad when you think about it, but it’s true. To the young brothers, it’s nothing cool about losing friends/love ones as frequent as we do in N.O. I understand that we’re desensitized to the violence, but I pray we all make it out to see a better way of life. 1Luv.

I just came across your channel and I am mind blown at the content and quality of your videos. Your videos are some of what I perceive to be, the most realistic portrayals of how life is in these areas. I am from New Zealand and in our 'hoods', life may not always be easy - but the struggle that some people in America face on a daily basis is unreal. Your videos give a whole new perspective on just how unfair life can be for some from the get-go. You give a voice to the people who need to be better understood - especially in a society that can be so judgmental towards the plight of others. Thank you, sincerely 🙏

Love these videos. Just came back from Mardi Gras 2023 and for some reason being in New Orleans felt a lot less safe than previous years we had visited. On Mardi Gras night we were shoulder to shoulder deep in a crowd on Bourbon and someone yelled out G*N. My husband and I had to duck and run and it was scary honestly. The cops were a block away around the corner. I def feel for the people who live there and have to deal with all the crime bc it seems to be getting worse over the years

The cycle will never stop because when you raising young children in this type of environment, do you really think they gonna break the cycle, very few people do. It’s truly sad because I’m from Louisiana and I love my home state, I wish this life style wasn’t glamorized like it is. I don’t understand why these young men, especially once they have children, why they don’t think about showing their kids another way. It’s possible, give your children a fighting chance. I live in a very mixed neighborhood where there’s close to a equal amount of white and black families, everyone lives in harmony. No gun battles, no violence, beautiful homes, everyone gets along. I will say people don’t bother their neighbors though at all, like you won’t have someone come knock on your door to borrow something. I grew up in the country and that part I miss, the community back then was like a huge, amazing family but my neighbors are very nice people. I truly believe we all work too hard to have what we have, so there’s no extra time for non sense. People who live in the areas like this in New Orleans, the culture is basically a kill or be killer culture. The whole of New Orleans is not like this, but a lot of it is.

I live on the Northshore and grew up about 2 hours away from Nola, but a lot of my family still lives in New Orleans. This past Mother’s Day my aunt had a gathering at her house in the East. Before we left my fiancé goes should I bring the gun? My response… yes😂. We ended up going to a restaurant with very limited seating. There were bars on the doors and you had to be buzzed in and out. One of the cooks were in pajamas and it took over an hour to receive our food. They did give me free crawfish though because it was Mother’s Day so I ain’t even mad at it😂 I worked in the Quarter during 2020 for a few months until the crime and violence started to get really bad. I hate that it’s gotten so bad because there is so much history and culture to be appreciated there. I wish these young women and men could see there is so much more to life than what they know in Nola. It doesn’t have to be a war zone. The world has so much more to offer. I was fortunate enough to have parents who wanted us to have a better life and opportunity than they had so I didn’t grow up in Nola. I don’t know if it will ever get back to what it was before the pandemic but I feel for the people who live there. That hood/ survivalist mentality leads them to be a prisoner in their own mind😢

I'll start off by saying that I am Caucasian and I'm 28 years old. I am a former drug user and was basically homeless from age 22 and then living at the shelter in downtown Cleveland, Ohio by 26. I've associated with every type of person under the sun including gang members and murderers and drug dealers. Riding along for transactions and even kickbacks in hundreds of different ghettos and traps. This life is not FUN like this generation seems to picture. Everyone is pissed ALL of the time, there is constant tension in the air every single place you go. No one involved even wants to be involved they were taught that this is what life is and this is all there will ever be. And if you go and get an education or act like a normal person who is part of a civilzed community and make good choices then you're considered a sell out. For me all it took was a halfway house, a job and a little motivation and in two years i have my own place in a good area, 2016 vehicle and money saved in my account. This new life makes me wonder why i ever made any of the choices i did when i was young. I wish the kids today could feel the same sense of peace that i do when i get home from work and can shower with my own water in a nice clean bathroom and can sleep in my own bed/ watch my own TV and not have to worry about a damn thing. Living life the right way and actually owning and having my own nice things is so much better and easier than constantly struggling. It took me finding a strong man to mentor and guide me in my life. The rest was on me. Find that pinch of discipline and motivation and go and get yours.

I moved to New Orleans for several months when I was 22 as a research student. I'm from the countryside in the North of England where there are no guns and I could walk safely anywhere I wanted. Man New Orleans was a huge culture shock for me. I actually had a bit of a breakdown 3 months in. I couldn't walk 3 blocks without getting harassed by someone. I was followed continuously by men. And I didn't feel safe to leave the house after 6pm. I did, however, develop a friendship with some of the Black community leaders working in Treme. That really helped me. I was really in awe of how the Black community had established support networks to detract people from gangs. As a white woman, my worst experiences in New Orleans almost always involved white men (often from the garden district).

@@frisco01 I added the white part in because the video is clearly centred on Black men and I was offering another perspective based on my experience. Notice that you're the only person to have a problem with it?

Such a shame that you needed to explain to dimwit why you mentioned "white men" given the context smh. I'm from Trinidad 🇹🇹 and it is unrecognisable to when I was living there as a child aside from the infrastructure. Stay safe and try to go somewhere where there's still a mix of people but the corruption favours those parts. Sad to say that but what else can we do? I have a childhood friends and family members trying to set me up to have me killed and I've done them nothing wrong nor said anything disrespectful but the perception of haves and have not is a big deal to less fortunate folk. Best to love em from a distance.

Hoover tried that in chicago during the late 70s and they got him. It was attempted in 1988 with a famous truce, but corrupt LA cops shot a well known crip and took his car through a blood neighborhood to start the war back up.

Everything about the area in this entire video is designed to keep these guys down & in! It even resembles a jail/prison tier. It's all very subliminal...or maybe not, at this point. The similarities to a prison are just uncanny, even the foods they purchase. It's depressing to see how we stay down, really. 😮‍💨
