The original FNAF games are really good about pacing each thing you have to do. Like they didnt immediately throw all the animatronics at you on day 1 or 2. The phone calls each day would explain a new game mechanic rather than the day 1 call giving you all the directions then tossing you to the wolves

Also, the game mechanics are sooo streamlined and clean. The bird only moves down the left hallway. The bunny only moves down the right hallway. If you refuse to check the cameras and just wait for them to slowly walk up to you, the fox RUNS down the hall -- game over. If you freak out and waste your energy, Freddie automatically approaches you -- game over. I can't tell WHAT these guys are supposed to be doing. XD

I'm presuming people do it to mimic the original FNaF games. It's somewhat become the phone guy's signature opening line in the originals, so it makes sense that a lot of people tend to try and incorporate that signature line into their fan game too. To keep it in FNaF style and all that junk, I guess? I don't mind it personally, but I have found with some of the fan games it sounds a little too forced and unnatural. It's common to stutter and repeat words at the beginning of a call since you're not sure if the other person can hear you, but sometimes the acting is off and it doesn't sound like a natural stutter.

Vulpezerda Vulcan I agree ^_^ It's interesting believing the robots are haunted by the souls of the kids who were killed, each of them stuffed hastily into the suits, but it's also somewhat terrifying to think that the suits were malfunctioning because of what was done to them (stuffing a human body into a mechanical suit and leaving it there can't be good for the system, I'm just saying), and then just... reused. With a new face. But these suits were supposedly acting up all the time, even before this, it's only on night 3 that we learn even a smidgeon about them stealing endoskeletons from Fazbear's. Embersift Exactly. Seems like the suits have been a bit edgy already, but now Rachel's is trying to steal Fazbear's endoskeletons- and possibly more, considering phone guy said "Isn't it bad enough we took the endoskeletons?"

I mean, what's interesting to me is that if we're going fully realized canon here, (like actual same realm spinoff with full implications) the phone guy sounds remarkably the same, even going so far as to use the 'hello! I'm not terribly impressed by this game. I mean, it looks fairly decent, and it has some interesting concepts, but it lacks the original's understanding of "less is more." In particular, it throws far, FAR too many equipment and mechanics at you at once, instead of spreading them out over the nights. So, for example, the curtain shouldn't be a threat until Night 2. That makes it easier for the player to understand what is going on. The "press this button to do this" signs should have stayed up for several nights. Notice that Markiplier didn't try to hide under the desk once because a) he forgot that he could do that because the button disappeared and b) it was unclear when it would ever be useful. When would hiding be better than closing the door? It was also hard to tell what's up with the animatronics: Which one is the raccoon (information that is apparently vital)? The only distinctive one was the giant bull. And to top it all off, the early-game threat level is essentially zero, so you have Mark getting to Night 3 with no practice whatsoever in what he's supposed to do beyond closing the curtains AND the button commands gone. So, while it has some potential, this demo is going to need a lot of improvement and playtesting before it's really worth running through.

The best guess I have is that one of the animatronics got to the open door while Markiplier was in the back room, and he forgot to check with his flashlight. At first I thought it might be the curtain thing, but he'd last closed the curtains ten seconds earlier (and it takes longer than that for them to open), so yeah.

It was the same animatronic that was standing outside the closed door, I think. There is a passage in that room that can put you right outside the other door. You can see it on the map. I think that's why it's such a big deal that you can only have one door closed at a time. Sort of like the vent system in FNAF 3...
