The "League of Legends" has nothing to do with the show so don't worry. It's like an arena where champions from different places and periods fight trying to accomplish their own objectives. Some just go for the giggles and others are literal space dragon gods that got captured and are made to fight. The two sisters are, as adults, characters in the League along with a few other appearances in the show but people that play the game were never really given much lore about those two so it's all new for players too.

'mate the "league of legends" and the summoners aren't part of the Lore anymore. They've been retconned out of the story since 2014. Now the champions just have their own separate stories that aren't related to the Summoner's Rift.

I just realized while watching this again with the reaction -- Jinx is actually being portrayed as an in-universe carry! Early on she needs to be protected by tankier teammates to survive, but then after enough time, she grows up to be a PROBLEM for anyone she sets her sights on.

Best animated show I’ve seen in a long time. Art style was strange for me at first cause I hadn’t really seen anything like it but it’s absolutely gorgeous, and surprisingly dark. Should have expected it from a show that says “shit” plenty. All I’ve seen from League are some clips from faker and I didn’t really know what was going on, and there’s no blood or cursing. Glad the company took the show in this direction.

What I love about Arcane is that you don’t have to know anything about league of legends to absolutely fall in love with the show and the characters in it I hope they do another show like this one but have different champions and hopefully eventually they all come together. I also don’t know a lot about League of Legends I’ve only play League of Legends a couple of times and I know very little about the lore of league of legends but this show makes me want to get invested in the league of legends lore !!!

Just a heads up the League of Legends isnt actually a canon thing in league lore, the game is a what if scenario pulling badasses from the world they made. So you dont have to be on the lookout for connections to some kind of death match.

The actually gameplay of league has basically nothing to do with this show, there is no story to the game, just character backstories and world lore. This show is the origin story for some of the characters in the game that you can play as, and that's pretty much all you need to know to appreciate it.

The older enforcer woman is Shohreh Aghdashloo who is the head of the UN in The Expanse, and plays a character in Destiny as well as plenty of other games and animation roles. I love every role she plays.

The familiar sounding voice of the female enforcer was Shoreh Aghdashloo. She's most well known for her role as Chrisjen Avasarala in The Expanse, but you may also recognise her as the voice of Lakshmi-II from the Destiny games or Admiral Raan from the Mass Effect games. She also had a recurring role in The Punisher, 24 and Grimm as well as many one off appearances in other TV shows.

The first part was the first revolt by Zaun (lower city) against Piltover (upper city) led by Vander, He took care and raise Powder/Jinx and Vi after their parents died in the scene. FYI: Powder/Jinx, Vi and Ekko are the playable characters in League of Legends on this episode

To explain. Every character in the game is known as a "legend" and basically they all fight that's why it's a league of legends. But this story is where these legends come from.

Nominally, the 'League of Legends' is sort of a framing device for the world of Runeterra, and no matter how much has been retconned and messed with that much has stayed fairly consistent. Basically, none of the lore and worldbuilding of the world of Runeterra (including Arcane, which literally just takes place in 2 of the main locations representent in LoL) is actually directly related to what's going on in the video game, rather the 'League of Legends' is a way of settling disputes between nations or factions that threaten the actual makeup of the world. For example, imagine if 'magic' in the classic sense as nuclear weaponry, power literally capable of killing EVERYONE in an instant. The idea of League is that real magic is mostly under the purview of Summoners who belong to the League in order to keep the world safe, Heimerdinger references this in episode 2. Basically a 'match' of League in the lore is two summoned teams of Runeterra's 'champions' (either volunteers or individuals captured and forced to compete) battling in place of a genuine world ending war. This has become a smaller and smaller part of the actual 'world of runeterra' since the game's release, to the point where we are Basically not given any lore reasons for new champions to actually compete anymore, and the league itself is almost never mentioned in any lore written in the last 5 or so years, but its still technically a thing.
