@@ernestw955 while true, for alpha demo purposes might be too much time consumed. Maybe on the major release demo they could. Keep in mind we are more aware of any "alien" look to humans speaking so it would require a lot more polish than a leaping animation or an ancient shooting laser beam. The purpose of this demo was not related to dialogue anyhow.

I don't think any upcoming game will use this almost perfect graphics for like 3 - 4 years. First reason is, many people can't afford nor reach for latest gaming GPU's and CPU's because of cripto miners ruining the market and Taiwan (biggest chip producting country) having problems with chip productions. So meanwhile companies like Nvidia having problem with reaching to customers, gaming companies are focusing on bigger customer groups by making low performance games. This also eases their job so it is win-win for them.
@NoSkill1
@NoSkill1 3 жыл бұрын
@@a.b.o.7378 true but development time might be longer than gpu shortage so they didnt know about that when they started but this kind of graphics is like showing off the possibilities just like uncharted 4 or basically anything from naughty dog, cause rtx 3090 cant get stable 30fps, it has drops to 5fps so it requires a lot of optimization

One feature I want is to be able to make terrain spheres, here's an example say you have a very detailed heightmap of the Earth and you import it into UE but it's flat and you want to make it a sphere because for whatever reason you need Earth in your project, you would simply click a button that says "Turn Landscape into Sphere", and boom you have a 1:1 heightmap replica of Earth that has been generated into a Sphere for when you have scenes that need to show a character like Superman or a Spaceship leaving from the ground of Earth to the top of the planet seamlessly.

One illusion breaking aspect of video games is always how feet don't realistically interact with the way the ground is visibly textured. The feet seem to at least partially clip through small rocks and the like. I wonder if one way to get around this would be to have the game temporarily increase the resolution of the mesh on the ground, wherever the game knows the feet are about to interact. So you are doing it temporarily and in small areas instead of the whole map at once.

Nothing quite compares to the impressive combination of ease to use and sheer power that Unreal Engine brings. I remember seeing some _highly_ rated comment back when the US was trying considering banning Tenant-owned companies like Epic Games, and they were saying things like "Just have someone else make Unreal!" If it was that easy, everybody would do it lol.

@SpyShadow28 Still, it will require raytracing compatible cards for lumen to run to its full potential but on the plus side now people will stop bitching about RTX not doing anything. This is the push we need for raytracing to become ubiquitous on even low end cards within the next few years.

@@SnrubSource even advanced in-editor modeling is useless for serious work, it's only useful for blockouts and if I recall correctly UE4 already had that, you can't get the same quality using it as in a dedicated software pipeline for geometry creating and texturing (ie. Blender -> Substance Painter -> UE) so it's not usable for production for the huge majority of game devs
