Thank you for the tricks, hacks and product recommendations. I already have the Weiman's stainless steel cleaner. I have a porcelain sink but Bar keepers Friend (liquid) is the best product on the market for cleaning stainless steel sinks and other metals. I am going to buy the products you recommended. I have a few hacks too. I swear by the squeegee I have one for the kitchen counter tops and the sink. I also have one for the shower of course which keeps it spotless at all times. I never have to scrub my shower. I also buy an extra rubber kitchen sink gasket like the one that was so gross and mucked up in your sink. I take mine out often and scrub it clean and then run it through the dishwasher to sterilize it. So mine doesn't get really gross. Having two just makes it easier. I also clean my garbage disposal every night, by running it with dawn liquid. If it still doesn't sparkle I use a long electric scrub brush. Afterwards I rinse it off and put it in the dishwasher.

I use distilled water in my Keurig, my Ninja tea kettle, & CPAP machine. No descaling required. I also use distilled water when making homemade DIY cleaners. I make my own distilled water - purchased a distilled water machine on Amazon. I have a timer set on it to stop before it runs dry, so I don't have to scrub to clean the gunky minerals out. Occasionally, I use citric acid & hot distilled water to clean the distilled water machine. 😊

@debbieduggan6796 do you mean you use distilled water to make your coffee? If you do, that's considered "hungry water" because of the science of water...water that's had the minerals removed will bond with the minerals in you and take them away from you..calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, etc. Idk how.much you drink or how much one needs to drink of distilled water before it's problematic, but you'll want to explore that and make sure you don't end up with problems doctors can't figure out. It is important to cover the opening of the garbage disposal as much as possible every time you run it. If not, there is a massive amount of bacteria that is being sprayed around your kitchen, ( same for toilets) you can’t see it, but trust me it’s there. I use a plastic lid, top or something like that, and slide it over, just so that the water can go in, but for the most part it’s covered.

We have just a regular, old-fashioned coffee maker, so to make a pot of coffee, and we just run half water & half vinegar through it a couple times, then run 2/3 times water through it after; it works like a charm. On the insert of my Philips coffee maker it even said to do that! I mean, can't be anything wrong with that. We do have a Senseo (this is from Philips, one of those coffee makers with little pads instead of cups) and that is a little more challenging, but vinegar works for just about *anything*, especially the water kettle. You do have to be careful not to fill it to the top (less than half is good) because if you let vinegar/water boil, it's going to bubble over! Just FYI.

Thank you for tips on things I didn’t even know I had to clean like the dishwasher & garbage disposal. My tip is keep the big dogs in the family room only because they splash & drip when they drink. We have cleaner floors in the rest of the house. They learn to stay in their area but they know they can still alert if a stranger comes to the door.

Great video! The best cleaner I have ever used to clean my stainless steel coffee carafe is about 1/2 cup baking soda then pour in boiling water that has coming to a rolling boil. Let it sit 20-30 min. It is amazing the baked on coffee that comes out.
@gingereaves40972 ай бұрын
I have done that for decades, too!

I agree! Staying ahead of cleaning makes a huge difference. The boys were right there with me during my kitchen clean. And of course, they appreciate their clean blankets and beds 🐾

I’m so happy I discovered the Weiman’s stainless steel cleaner! I was amazed when I first tried it. Now I use it on my computer screen and keyboard and even in my car and my leather purse! It’s amazing! I’ve always used SOS steel wool pads on my stove, works great but you have to be careful if you have painted emblems or brand names with that, now you sold me on a few other items!

I never knew about the Dawn degreaser. I just checked and my Lowes has it in stock. I’m going today!! Thanks
@WelcomeToMyCurls2 ай бұрын
Tammie.....the degreaser is the best thing ever!! I discovered it a few years ago (before I learned how to shop online) and spent an entire afternoon driving around Paducah looking for this stuff. It's impossible to find! I went to Wal-mart, Lowes, Home Depot...and finally found it at Menards. Make sure your Lowes has it in stock before making the trip. Typically it's on their website but not in store. However you can get it....you'll love it! **wear gloves when using**

great video, thank you. I live in a white trash trailer park/ghetto/barrio apartment complex and too afraid to do this type of cleaning. still debris in the bottom of dishwasher from previous tenant. hand wash everything and dry. Clorox wipe counters and sink daily.

I think Sprayway brand glass cleaner and stainless steel cleaner works the best! Thank you for what you do!
@RedErin2 ай бұрын
That spray for your sink and stainless looks like the car cleaning stuff I use all over the house. A little goes a long way. Nothing fancy, I don’t have more than a few items. I use a rinseless car wash like ONR diluted to the right ratio on my mirrors and sinks, P&S Express diluted or full for anything grimy, and a ceramic protectant spray once or twice a year. It’s so cheap and repels grime. And oh my gosh I love that SprayWay glass cleaner you used, that is the best thing ever and ammonia free so it doesn’t damage window tint and other things. I basically have the same kit for car and house.

I’m retired so I clean my kitchen and bleach it down every day. But, you can’t open a cabinet in my house because something will fall out and you’ll be killed. My cabinets are awful.

This was helpful! I use several of those active products you mentioned. Although for the garbage disposal I prefer the affresh brand. One caution and one idea for the coffee pot. I do use vinegar because it’s natural and super cheap. The smell doesn’t really bother me. But some of the ingredients in that de-scaler I would avoid. Just sharing my two cents. Another thing we do because we do have hard water is we used distilled water to make our coffee and that means we have to descale less often. We have a few appliances that require distilled water so we bought a water distiller and just make our own at home. 😊
