I love the contrast between the tension of a mob leading a riot against an evil scientist and the cuteness of Cecil talking softly and complying with Esteban's requests......... my heart has no idea what to feel

I love Cecil's take on The Runaway Rabbit. My friend mentioned that his mom used to read him that bedtime story when he was little.

"All avenues simply loop back to where they started." reminds me of "Mary Sue: 'What's at the end of Main Street?' Teacher: 'Oh, Mary Sue, you know that. The end of Main Street is just the beginning again.'" from Pleasantville.

There’s no better way to learn the language! If it makes you feel better, I’m a native English speaker and still don’t understand a lot of the language used until I look it up. You should be very proud of your proficiency

There are transcrips of the episode posted online. If you want to, you could try to google translate them.

the best way to learn a language is with things you love. I recommend to check the transcript (you can find the link in the description). that way when you listen and read at the same time and it makes it easier to both understand the story and learn english. good luck!! 💜

finally after 3 years I'm caught up on the series!! Love this podcast and all that you do! Seeing the mystery of NightVale slowly yet brutally being undone feels weird as hell and scary in a way that StrexCorp and the Smiling God and the Desert Otherworld and The Pilot doesn't quite match. They were all dangerous entities who wanted control or power or both. The University is just... calmly explaining the town *away*, and tbh that would be one hell of a way to go out.

I'm finally caught up!! I don't know how many years it's been since I first heard Welcome to Night Vale, with so many gaps - 3? 4? -, but here I am. And what an amazing episode to be caught up on :D. Literally it's like "Welcome to Night Vale can't have a moment more adorable than the adorable moments so far" and this episode said "Hold my hot Cheerios" lol xD amazing

i have a theory. gravity falls is one of the versions of night vale and tad strange is its cecil. (because cecil baldwin voices both cecil Palmer and tad strange.)

Bro this podcast started being cringe since episode 30... Except Hatchets. Hatchets is my favorite ep outside of Year 1 Edit: I can't remember the last time I felt scared while listening to NightVale. I genuinely can't. Maybe when that puppy stood on both legs with a pyre around him & creaked "Who's a good boy?" but that was an oasis in a sea of cringe.
@doriangrayshusband5492 жыл бұрын
why bother commenting then? also it's not meant to be scary, really it's meant to be surreal, paranormal, and funny I don't know many people who would call this a horror podcast because that's not really what they're going for
@spud_dles2 жыл бұрын
Then... why are you here? Why did you keep listening after episode 30? And how did you listen to so much and somehow still think its supposed to be scary in an "ahhh! Spooky!" Way and not the "Why is all this weird shit treated as normal. What the fuck." Kinda way it actually is.

@@doriangrayshusband549 at first it was very eery and creepy, I remember watching the first episode with a friend in Middle School and he was too scared to finish it. After a few episodes it settled into its social commentary pretty well, but it stayed spooky for a while, that was just part of the show's aesthetic. It's gotten lighter over time, and the commentary has kind of taken a backseat to whatever the writers feel like doing. I do think this is a detriment to the show, it's less naturally funny, and they do way too many non-radio show episodes, it makes me feel like they're really running out of ideas. If I knew they'd do that bit again and again, I wouldn't have enjoyed The September Monologues nearly as much as I did, which was still less than a regular episode at the time. I honestly think Night Vale should've ended with the Wedding episode, or maybe a few dozen episodes before that. Around the 50s-60s is when I really noticed the drop-off, though, it's almost insultingly bad for a while. BRINY DEPTHS legitimately got me mad when I first heard it, it's almost self-parody at that point. There were still good episodes fairly frequently, though, which is why I think episode 100, Toast, would've made a solid finale. I'm Sure if it ended there, most fans would've been fine with it, the show was past its prime but it would've still managed to keep it together in the end. It's gotten a bit better now, it isn't insulting, but it's way blander than at its peak. But hey, make 200 episodes of something, you'll have a few duds in the pile, the fact they managed to keep it not only good, but arguably consistently the best podcast online for over a year is already impressive.

It's had it's ups and downs. I'm still a fan but definitely some episodes or archs I didn't love. Some are so thoughtfully deep. Others are just weird to be weird. I do miss the ominous vibe in the beginning. Mirrors and places and people being lost, whispers in the dark, barks ennui. Good old fashioned blood stone and the spire.
@yanazlatin31642 жыл бұрын
I actually like it got less scary. Its like we got to know nightvale, and now we are just used to this stuff just like the residents. I def agree i dont like *all* of the episodes, but most of them are still good
