This is my third time listening to this, but for some reason when Lee Marvin mentioned the cake being gone, I thought immediately of Cecil freezing in place because he was currently eating the last of the cake. Then he had to finish the show with everyone staring at him because he didn't share.

7:20 this traffic monologue from this episode might be my favorite Nightvale piece of all time. i don't know why, but it gives me an amazing nostalgic, liminal feeling I can't forget, even three years later. I had to search for it to hear it again, just because of how memorable it was. There's just something special about it to me that I can't quite articulate.

I have been listening to Nightvale for around 2 years. I remember, early on in my listening, the first new episode I came across was The Birthday of Lee Marvin. I so looked forward to that episode. And now, here I am, at Lee Marvin's birthday. As I look again, I realize that there are 2 episodes with this title, I think the second one is what I was thinking of. But back when I saw this episode next up on the playlist, half an hour ago, I didn't know that. All I knew was, "Wow. I finally made it." Happy birthday, Lee Marvin. The time is 2:52 A.M., eastern time.

it sounds like a train going over a track

@@fauxclaws yeah, it definitely seems that way, but why is it there? It can't just be background noise from recording, can it? It has to have been put there in post

@@galladegamerletsplays oh it's there on purpose for sure, but as they never address it I think it's just supposed to be ambience. @@fauxclaws they don’t have a train; an episode when Huntokar was being freshly introduced there was a train that appeared in the middle of a field where the tracks used to be

Um.. Okay, so missiles in the sky is obviously the destruction of nightvale, the day of the Armageddon, when they were relocated to that dark planet (I can't remember...) by Huntokar. The real Lee marvin died in 1987, the Armageddon happened in 1983... And for some reason he is 30? IDK. Also, there was an obvious reference there to "A Door Ajar", but I don't remember it very well...
@pachutoazumadre32xD5 жыл бұрын
They were not relocated, just removed from reality, although it didn't quite work
@joshuafass5841 Жыл бұрын
Huntokar saved her version of Nightvale from destruction, forming an odd limbo world for their inhabitants. When they die, their souls are reclaimed by the dark planet illuminated by no sun. Perhaps that is the real earth, shrouded in forever clouds caused by the Armageddon.

I think I figured it out... in order to slow/stop the falling apart of nightvale, huntokar messed with time?? I don't know if Im slow or if I missed something, but to mt knowledge they never explained the issue with aging and time in night vale( beyond the scientists figuring out it simply works differently from the rest of the world and might not follow one linear path.)
