Finaly some company did! One year ago, I did ask people on KZbin, why the hell nobody is doing HF AC stick welding option on this combined all around machines? And guess what happened? Everybody attacked me, I'm dumb, just use a buzzbox, I'am stupid and so on... So here is My new machine! Thank You for sharing!

BMR Studio Htp invertig welder can do variable FQ and pulse on stick mode. Only one I know of that does pulse on stick.

Another good video. Most of us think "Tig" when it comes to thin stainless, but you remind us that there is a place for stick! Thanks

Another awesome video. If I didn't have to work to provide for my family I would come out there and go to school. I am an around the house welder and not a pro by no means so I don't know all the fab math or all the different metals. having said that I am amazed at the amount of knowledge ole bobby has from how to weld the different metals to the fabricating math in the other videos. I know a lot of guys that call themselves welders and they just don't come close. I appreciate the knowledge. Nice to see them out takes are back.

Cool stuff, nice to know that I would be able to do stainless with my grandpa's old buzz box! I would like to do a request: can you show some oxy/propane or propane/air brazing? I don't think I could convince my parents to store an acetylene cylinder in their shed and am looking a brazing setup on a tight budget.

Hey Bob , thank you for your videos . They are interesting and helpful as always. I had a request about stainless steel sanitary tubing. Could you do a 304 L 2" tubing with no gap and no filler in 5g or 6 g position and explain how to control heat input and what is better to walk the cup or do freehand on such small pipe diameter ?

pulse stick. hmmm that would be neat, especially for things like open root

Would have also liked to see it where the frequency is fixed, not variable. I guess the typical fixed frequency is around 60 cycles on earlier inverter machines.

Were you running the welder in the TIG mode to be able to use AC?
@danielnoland28697 жыл бұрын
Would it be ok to stitch or step the puddle on this weld or is it always better to "drag" the puddle. I think it would be easier for me to maintain bead consistency if i were to work the puddle a bit. Also, have you ever ran 3/16 7024 on 3/16 plate? I do that every day at my job and find it quite difficult to get a slag peel. I know the electrode is too big but, the bosses want you to lay down a lot of metal in a little time.

You always make it look so easy. What would you say is the best method to weld stainless steel being used in food service?

Mark Bolin TIG, hands down.

Is this doable with a machine that doesn't have adjustable frequency? Also is it a viable process in a T joint or lap joint fit up?

@gordondavis34927 жыл бұрын
Great video & advice on things to tey when trying to keep heat to a minimum especially on thin materials...Can you PLEASE do one on welding THIN (20gage) aluminum to thicker (10 gage) aluminum...or something comparable to those thicknesses? TIG would be the only way I see being possible but whatever video you can swing would be ONE OF VERY FEW IF ANY.

Sure, we'll add it to the list.

Hey, Bob, thanks for another good video, but I'm sorry, I don't get the AC thing on a stainless steel. I do understand why one needs AC on something like aluminum (or aluminium as we are used to say here) to thermally stress and to break thru the protective oxide layer, but I don't get why it can be helpful on any ferrous materials. Please advise.

I'm interested in seeing what the practical differences are between 6010 and 6011. Where I live, I can get 6011 by the boatload, but I have to special order 6010. After one of those rods is used I simply cannot tell the difference between them and want to hear or see some measurable differences in the applied weld. As a student, *whisper* I liked 6011 better. I could turn the dig all the way up and got reliable keyholes (for my hand at least) So many (NAME BRAND) 6010 rods just turned into matchsticks on me at full dig. They seem very finickey to me but appear to lay down no (visibly) superior weld when doing open roots. Screw 6013 forever in my book, 6011 is the do it all rod :-/ Can you change my mind?

If all someone has is an AC only welding machine, it's very unlikely that their machine has adjustable frequency. Maybe a comparison of that bead to one on normal 60hz, DCEP and DCEN.

Bob Moffatt could you make a stick welding playlist on the channel as well as make more stick welding videos like 1.5 mm 6013 on sheet metal and other sheet metal stick welding on zinc plated sheet metal ( galvanised ) and other related things. I have GMAW MMAW from 3mm up to about half inch to three quarters of an inch down packed and I great at according to my high school design and Technology ( shop class for you Americans) I'm only 13, love to weld I just wanted some help because I have some sheet metal work coming up.
