Easily my favorite Ska-metal song. 🙂 (not that many ska-metal songs anyway) The way they do it, their only perform 1 hour show on a tour or stretch it longer for big shows with more rest. It's a bit short for a metal band show, but understandable. It takes a huge amount of talent and hard work.

YAVA BY BABYMETAL:- I love this song because I love the SKA genre. YAVA fuses SKA and Metal. Very underrated song cos, not many reactors react to this because of copyright issue. Some in the Metal community didn't even knew that the SKA genre existed unless you listen to Sublime, Pepper, No Doubt and other bands that play the SKA genre. The Kami Band is brilliant and brutal but skip the Intro. Yuimetal aka Yui Mizuno last performance was at "Big Fox Festival in Japan at Osaka-Jo hall" on 15th Oct. 2017. Song's name, "ヤバッ!", translates as "Oh, no!" but they transcribed it as "YAVA!" (from "YABA" or "YABAI") which means "horrible" or "dangerous". This live performance had an instrumental intro which they decided to cut out from this video, unfortunately. So the abrupt start of the song. This was Momometal's very first performance of "YAVA!".

This is a song from Metal Resistance 2016 album and era when YuiMetal was still part of the group. YAVA! (actually Yabai!, It's a contraction) means like "oh no!" or when describing something dangerous or surprising, that's the facial expression you can see on the girls. They're fusing ska genre and metal in a way no one did before, the cuteness and charming of these girls are unmatchable. The Kami Band intro in this one is super fun, unfortunately they cut it off from here, so you will need to get the DVD/BD of this show (or just get a live compilation is already around 😉). Until 2017 the East Kami Band played the intro, they played the song a few more times but without the intro, now this is the first time West Kami Band is playing it along with the intro. Also after YuiMetal left the group, the avengers system were the backing dancers but only Riho Sayashi and Kano Fujihira were the ones selected to perform this song, and last March at Legend MM celebrating MomoMetal's 21 birthday in Yokohama Arena it was Momo-chan first time performing YAVA! "Chigau" in the lyrics is the temporary title fans gave to this song when they did the live premiere without knowing the song, the word means "different" and totally fits with the meaning of the lyrics, this could be a song talking about them, you know, the surprise factor of being different. You can enjoy the Kami Band intro version as well the original trio performing with the live at Fox Festival 2017. Awesome, this is an amazing classic Babymetal brought back! Also, this song was proceeded by an amazing new Kami Band intro. Also, for this show (~1.5 hrs), Kami Band had 2 solo intros where the ladies can take a brief breather. 🤘🦊

👍 👍 Great reaction BABYMETAL diving into the ska genre. Many of their songs when they are performing LIVE have beautiful, complex and intricate intros which give the ladies a breather between songs. Also the Kami Band perform solo instrumental intros (surprised that this song (YAVA) did not have a Kami Band intro as it usually does at other concerts.

I don’t know if both above comments are true ? @DaniloSouza84 I wish I’d heard about this WAY earlier in life !! Singing live, playing guitar live, the stuff that can make it hard always seems to be stuff one might not plan for or know how to practice for. Remember how in the film School of Rock, Jack Black has his kids train or practice behind chicken-wire protection while beer bottles on strings get lobbed at them ? Practicing singing while running on a treadmill seems similar. Even experienced singers don’t always know or anticipate how fatigued one can get, performing an energetic show. I’m going to try treadmill practice-singing too (100% serious !!) but I won’t do it at my quasi-public neighborhood gym. [i’ll do it at home. But I will do it. ]

IDK why Amuse cut the Kami band intro from the video. It's amazing! The Kami band is on fire! It's like Amuse is trying to just erase the Kami band from the performances completely.
