Ha! Look at who's digging around more on the welding side of things. KNOW YOUR ROLE! You're a woodworker and woodworker only, that's all you're supposed to do or else.
@jimbelkin73018 жыл бұрын
+Jay Bates It is a beast. How much does it weigh? I would also need to factor in the weight of my everlast welder and water cooler. Is the table fairly easy to push around?

Thanks Tom. There are some great table designs out there and they inspired me. I tried to take all of the features I thought would have been helpful to have in past projects I built and tried to incorporate them into the design.

Excellent design and build of the table, the extra details like added storage are a great addition. Also very much like the fact that you took the time to paint everything and make it look good, as well as be functional. Could pass for commercially made, thumbs up man.

Awesome job... That one will be with you for a lifetime... A huge value to your projects.. It was well worth the time building it. I stopped building things quickly to fill a need.. They always stay around the shop, and don't really reflect the craftsmanship of the builder.. Something like this sure does, though... Very nice..

Gorgeous design and very well executed! The shop where I'm working now has a stationary welder and a mobile unit on a crappy little cart with casters that don't track properly, the welder and air tank aren't mounted, and there is no handle or anything with which to steer. I dread moving it around. I've wanted to build something better but I was just thinking about a cart. I hadn't thought about a mobile welding station. This changes a lot for me. Thank you!
@intjonmiller10 жыл бұрын
There are several elements I don't need and wouldn't do for my own cart, but the one thing I would probably do differently is mount the vise 90° counter-clockwise so it blocks less of the depth of the table. Otherwise I can't even think of anything I would change. By the way, is it paint or powder coat? Gorgeous finish either way. Thanks for sharing!

I love it !!!! This is my dream welding table for my small shop.
@gordowg1wg1456 жыл бұрын
Very, very nice setup. If you weld a tab to the top of the end of the inner slider, you can significantly reduce the play in the tubing and, if you really want to get down to it, building up the bottom of the outer tube at the exit can allow you to have runners that track straight the whole length. Sort of like a "N", works best if you have some low friction stuff, especially with a bit of weight on them. I don't know if you get them over there, but we have outlets available for outdoor(?) use that have a flap that protects the outlet from rain, etc. I'm a bit paranoid about metal dust building up in outlets and use them to keep the sockets dust free. You don't mention them, but I would DEFINITELY have a built in RCD for each bank of outlets just in case I knicked a cable exposing a live wire, or had an equipment fault.

Sweet Beautiful Table going to start mine next week picked up a 5/8" thick 48" X 66"... Love the saw mount and extension definitely swiping that idea, probably do just shelves on the ends as I don't have the tool boxes to use although I have a 4.5 foot machine drawer 6" deep I may try to incorporate. anyway Great Table Good Job!!

That's a badass work station. Thanks for sharing!
@RockyCreekRanchTX10 жыл бұрын
I think slots and holes like a StrongHand table would be a great addition. In my case a solid surface works better as I use it as a multi purpose assembly bench for wood working etc. If I need additional clamping I use Super Strut channel that I can position and clamp anywhere on the table and I have modified some clamps to work in the channel. So far it has worked great on the projects I have built so far.

That's slick! I'm jealous!that would be perfect for my small garage. With my limited space I could pull it outside.
@JayHutchG3 ай бұрын
Great project & very well thought out. Very effective use of space, Bonus is how great the table looks! Maybe consider mounting an inexpensive Harbor Freight ATV winch or some pull arrangement in the garage to assist you getting that beast in and out of the garage. The side table for your saw is perfect. I think I'll do a modular one that will hold my Evolution saw and my Porta Band table. I was fortunate to find a 48" x 48" fixture table on Craigs list for $400. It's a Weld Tables Fab Block. Really great table. Guy was leaving town and I was lucky. You know what this table cost new BEFORE you put them together. I only mention because I didnt realize how wonderful the 16mm/5/8" fixture holes would be for set up and keeping stuff straight and square. You could buy an inexpensive Mag Drill and do some 16mm holes yourself. You wouldn't have to do the entire table. Time consuming laying out the holes, but they must be perfect. Well done on this project budroe!
@RockyCreekRanchTX3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comments. I actually did drill holes in the top and made some other small changes. I am getting ready to do some new videos now that I have retired early and built a new metal shop as well as a woodworking shop. I will be highlighting other builds I have done as well as the updates I did to the table in a new video.
