My dad has always had a soft spot for these big buds. There has only been one in our area back in the 80's but it sure would be fun to rebuild one and have it as a extra tractor!

Looking great guys...all of us back East are watching your journey with this great tractor, it's gonna be cool watching her pulling some huge implement this spring. One thing that may help with the lighting coupler you have under the hood, apply just a tiny dab of dielectric grease (get it at the parts store) on each of the pin connectors, we use it a lot on our UTV's when mud bogging, it does a great job of keeping the water out of those "waterproof" connectors. Keep up the great work, there are thousands of us out here keeping up with your every move.

As excited as all of you on Welker Farm to see the BIG BUD 525/50 up and running again and ready to be a productive piece of equipment for many years to come. I love your videos... God Bless you and your families. An awesome video for Thanksgiving would be to share one of the entire Welker family. Maybe a sitdown around a dinner table and just share your thoughts and blessings. God Bless the Welker family and America's farmers. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you at Welker Farm and all your incredible viewers. God Bless America!!

In southwest Idaho the fields are so small that you couldn't use such a large tractor. It's rare to see a 12 bottom plow much less a large tractor. It's cool that the Big Bud is such a heavy duty tractor and is so versatile that any engine/transmission works in it. Makes the tractor much more valuable in the long run.

Deutsch connectors - easy to work with and completely reliable! Go take a peek at a boom lift or rough terrain scissor lift and see what they're using to connect the wiring harnesses to the control boxes. (Your older electric scissor lift probably uses them too...if it hasn't been retrofitted.)

Always fun watching you guys. As for the 4 pin waterproof connector for 5 wires... you could always just make one of the wires into a "signal" wire used to activate or deactivate a relay which would then either turn the blinkers or hazards on, but not both simultaneously. That'd save you a wire running through the... uh... firewall?... frame? But you'd need to have some relays up exposed to the elements in the hood. Although it looks like you solved it by splicing one of the wires into another. Or you could use the frame as ground (are the frames ground in tractors?)

13:40 those connectors are great, but they are only designed for a single double insulated wire. If you want a watertight seal on them you need the type with a rubber plate with holes in it, where you stick the single leads through.
