Yesterday (2019) SYNOPSIS: Jack Malik is a struggling singer-songwriter in an English seaside town whose dreams of fame are rapidly fading, despite the fierce devotion and support of his childhood best friend, Ellie. After a freak bus accident during a mysterious global blackout, Jack wakes up to discover that The Beatles have never existed. Performing songs by the greatest band in history to a world that has never heard them, Jack becomes on overnight sensation with a little help from his agent.

I think that this line by Carol is a bit of an inside joke. I read somewhere that when Himesh Patel auditioned (for a movie about Beatles music), he performed Fix You, by Coldplay. They thought that it was such a funny choice that they added a reference to it in the movie. If it's true, it makes the line even funnier.

@@pedrosilva9880 Ed Sheeran was the perfect choice for a movie about tapping into other artists' songs, not saying he ever did it but he has settled some lawsuits so I give him great credit for agreeing to co-star in this movie and did I mention I love Ed Sheeran? Let me add this: It took ED SHEERAN to get Elton John out of a 20+ year self-imposed absence from appearing in his own videos. Thanks Ed! P.S., Who is Chris Martin?
