I've been following your videos & things have been great so far. I only wanted to give a constructive critique of this video. To begin, I feel as tho you flew right thru this lesson without explaining the concept of: UDP/TCP ports & the differences between them. I understand there is range of 65,535 port numbers in total, but that only applies to one range, rather that be TCP or UDP. So in theory, you can have an application communicating using TCP port "80" & a completely different application could be using UDP port "80" & it would not have any conflicts because they are on separate ranges. Which touches upon the other concept of Multiplexing applications. Secondly, in the listing that you had given us for the most important port numbers we need to remember, you don't mention if these are all UDP or TCP ports, which may be a possible question that will be asked of us on the exam. Please don't see this as an attack on your video, because your other videos are good, but it was just something that I had noticed in my preparation for the Network Exam.

Thanks for the feedback :) no offence taken. I appreciate critique as long as the intent behind it is good like yours. It helps me make better lessons for you guys in the end so thank you for your feedback on this video. I've pinned your comment so others can see it too if you don't mind. If you would like to have it unpinned let me know and I'll do so :)

What about 995, 1521, 389, 3389 etc. are these ports also required to know for the exam?

Yes they are.... I'm surprised they are not all in the Video. At the minimum it should have listed all the new Port #'s that are added in Net+ and less of the ones from A+. On the exam you won't get 20 port # questions, maybe like 5 tops. When I took the A+ Core 1 exam, I only got 2 Port # questions and there are 20 port #'s in total for A+. In Net+ it's about 35 in total (which includes the ones from A+). Just know that it's good to know most of them because knowing the majority will help with process of elimination to pick the right answer. The exam won't drown you with Port #'s because it's only 75-80 multiple choice and the rest will be answering related to Performance Based Questions. If this test was 200 questions then yeah I'd stress about every port #. The idea is to try and remember as much as you can from each Objective category (ex: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 - - 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc - - 3.1, 3.2 etc etc etc). The exam will throw only so many questions at you from each topic. You just won't know WHAT they will ask about. 90 questions is not alot of room to overload you in just 1 topic. I made the Mistake of over studying 1 topic too much and I ended up only with 1 question related to it. (I was pissed because I over did it for so little benefit).

Since basically chopping the lessons up into smaller bite size pieces it's hard for me to say how many more lessons there will be. With the CompTIA A+ course I simply made a whole video for each module so it was easy to predict exactly how many videos there would be. In this case since each module is chopped into small pieces, I can't say for sure at this time
