You owe me a laptop screen. I was drinking lemonade and lime when you made the remark about 'tom cat'. I have often wondered why narrowboats are not built with a hatch - like a duck hatch or hatch in the side, whatever - I could draw it easily enough - which would allow any number of bulky, heavy items to be craned in or out. Okay, I'm a Scout Leader, so I know about 'block and tackle and jibs and rope slings and so on, but I am not a rocket scientist and even I can see such a facility could be built in to a boat without great cost or inconvenience. I even think it could be done to an existing boat, with a plasma cutter and a few 'electric bolts'. Great vlog though guys. Good to see Debs looking and sounding so well - virtual hugs all round.

The boats with a traditional engine room have a large plate cut out of the roof and bolted back in so the engine can be installed and removed

Something I would have fun doing is take a clock identical to one hanging there on side of pantry and replace its workings with one which runs backwards & swap the two clocks at several random points between scenes for the video.

you guy's are looking good all the way from skegvegas. i was concerned that my washing bundle of 2 pairs of boxers a month was a bit heavy thank you for the reasurance and now i can relax. top tip of the day if you want to save running the engine to do yer washing just tie marks boxers to some string and trail them along in the canal!. either way keep up the great work your doing with the vid's and more importanly keep smiling .ttfn

This has been such fun... I use the eco laundry egg also. My first test was to put in my swim suit which had been used 3 times a week, rinsed and dried. Once washed with the eco egg it no longer smelled of pool water. Way wonderful.

This is life, right? Go on vacation and come home to a repair! So, the old machine was a washer dryer....what about this one? It looks very posh! Why the concrete block on the top of the drum? Is that to lessen vibration? I had a front loader (home machine) on a pedestal and I swear that thing was going to take off and fly! Looking forward to your next "How I do". Just a washer, we vary seldom used the dryer. The concrete is to do with vibration suppression and balancing things out
