Wellki. Lifestyle. Health. Community.
Plain and simple, your body needs to have a period of recovery following a workout, both to give you the rest you deserve from the energy extended, as well as to repair itself from the beating you just gave it. But is that enough for a full workout recovery, and to counteract the potential long-term effects of all that exercising?
Thanks to all the constant motion, impact, and body mechanics of load lifting involved during weight training and other exercise, there's a chance that over a period of time, the structure of your body can be out of alignment.
In that event, one of your options, and speaking from experience a GREAT option, is seeking the attention and care of a good, licensed doctor of chiropractic care. I recently took a trip to visit West End Chiropractic with Wellki Chief Editor Nick Nelson. While there, Nick was able to go through an initial client consultation with Dr. Dana Schomberg, getting a full rundown of what a chiropractic appointment is, what a chiropractic adjustment is and what chiropractic care entails -- including the benefits of regular visits to help your body stay fully aligned.
Think about all the times, either after grueling workouts or lengthy athletic activities, that you were sore or achy the next day. I'll bet there's a high possibility that you didn't allow yourself full recovery before walking around, heading to work, maybe even exercising or competing again. In the event that you favored one leg with a slight limp, or attempted to 'walk off' the achy joint area, what's happening there is that your entire body is shifting, ever so slightly. The staff of doctors at West End Chiropractic, situated in lovely St. Louis Park, MN, provide a detailed description as to why chiropractic care can resolve any issues associated with these shifts:
"The purpose of this procedure is to increase mobility and remove restrictions called subluxations in the joints of the body by applying a controlled and measured force to the joints. Joints of the body become restricted as a result of a single traumatic injury such as whiplash injury or a fall. Subluxations can also result from repetitive activities such as improper lifting and poor posture, over an extended period of time. "Chiropractic Adjustments" or "Spinal Manipulation", as they are commonly known, remove the subluxation from the joint thereby restoring normal mobility and joint position and eliminating the associated pain and discomfort."
There's quite a few bones in the human body, and with it comes joints, ligaments, muscles and everything else that holds everything together. And during these slight shifts, your body is coming out of alignment. For your muscles, it's always good to massage out any soreness, but what about your joints and joint connective tissue?
Too often when people think of heading to the chiropractor, they may think of getting cracked and twisted out of proportion. In fact, the exact opposite is true. Going through a routine alignment visit is calming, relaxing, and invigorating full-body experience. Look at it more as a great way to recover from all the twists and cracks of NORMAL, daily living. There are very many physicians and researches out there that are starting to view the industry as a safer alternative to medicines; even surgery. I try to make it a point to head in to the chiropractor every month, just to make sure my body is running on all cylinders, and free of any range-of-motion issues.
I can tell you from personal experience that seeking the care of a great chiropractor has helped me out a few times in my life. After experiencing back and hip issues after college, the help of a good chiropractor slowly helped ease the pain of joint issues. One day, I simply was walking around, free of pain. It was like the injury was never a part of my life!
Likewise when I was experiencing lots of ankle pain, thanks to years and years of athletic experiences -- as well as too often trying to get back on the field before being fully recovered from injury. After chiropractic rehabilitation, I'm currently walking with a normal stride, fully equipped with better strategies for injury prevention -- all learned by making regular chiropractic visits.
If you're skeptical at all, or weren't quite sure if chiropractic care is something for you, be sure take a look at the videos either here, or at Wellki's KZbin channel to put your mind at ease -- and get you fast on the road to full-body recovery.

Don't be fooled into weekly visits. Its pretty much a scam. They lie to you to come back for weekly adjustments so they can make bank. I was seeing my chiropractor every Friday and all she would do is crack my neck and lower back and take down a useless data report. After a couple months I saw her out driving a brand new Mercedes SUV. I realized she was laughing all the way to the bank and stopped going. it doesn't help unless something is really out of place which they would be getting no business if that was the case

Lmao to all people on here that thinks it’s fake. Must never have been or had sore back or neck worked on by one. Yes if doing fine no pain no need to go all the time that’s a rip off. But when hurting it helps fix problem. Its nothing like a message or wholeistic med. what retards.

hahaha I love how she fails even with the most generic comments: 0:32 "Feelin tight?" ... patient: no, it feels good 0:53 "Definitely tightness..work mustve been tough today"....patient: uhh..i suppose a little bit This is literally just a massage. There are no "hip adjustments" or "spinal adjustments". Any benefit that someone could gain from this could come from a good massage.

+minion023 I have to disagree, as I have had problems with pinched nerves in my neck numerous times, and the only thing that helped was a chiropractic adjustment. The chiro "cracked" my neck, which almost instantly relieved the pain. I have also had massages, but they do not do the same thing, as they only loosen up the muscles, but nothing w/ the actual vertebrae.

Chiropractors are doing a great Job. Without them, many more people would be suffering from severe pain and degenerative illness in the spine and the joints. I just am glad that the german healthcare system is 100% paying for the adjustment and the prevention that are providet by these doctors. Especialy in the industrial areas of western Germany, there is such an huge amount of work for them. Best regards to the team of West End Chiropractics from the other side of the globe.

For neck adjustments, I've noticed a lot of chiropractors either snap the patients neck to the side instantly and some pull slowly, rolling out the clicking. Is that a preference thing or is it having to do with the location of the locking?

Those bone clunking sounds are so satisfying. And as an additional observation, both the practitioner and the recipient are very beautiful! :) Also, is it really necessary to discriminate between the "Female Doctor" and the "Male Patient?" It's obvious which is which.
