You're correct! He's reading the information from something like it. The incredible thing is that he knows what he's reading and understands it, almost fully. This man is a genius notwithstanding the fact that this information is known. Again, he has the incredible ability to read something and convey the information with superb accuracy, this is not easy. I'm completely impressed by his overall knowledge.

I'm sitting here listening to this information, glancing at my prescribed Quetiapine (Seroquel). I took it one night for insomnia. I decided to stop after the first dose. Insomnia!!! This man gives a dissertation in under 40 minutes. 50 milligrams per pill, once a day before bed. Our Doctor said that side affects occur in low doses on par with 300 to 400 milligram doses! Thanks Doctor. I followed my gut, but now I know.

I went to an inpatient facility once at which nearly everyone who came in was put on a very high dose of seroquel. For me it was so high I got sick trying to get off it. Worse was whenever any of us got sleepy from it we'd be punished for putting our heads down. For your own safety, never go to Parkwood behavioral health in Mississippi.

Great breakdown of this pill. Most doctors don't have enough knowledge to allow you to make informed decisions. One of the most important aspects, as always, is to follow the money. There is such a conflict of interest between the FDA and pharmaceutical companies. Safety is never the priority, it is usually last on their checklist.

What was crazy is I felt fine basically. That was 15 years ago and since stopping it I've never had any issues.

You can get off it but it’s extremely important to very slow as you’re weaning off and then you’re going to potentially start a roller coaster ride with your emotions ranging from mild to possibly extreme it varies from person to person. You shouldn’t have to worry about doing the nosedive that happened when you quit cold turkey. I really hope you get off it and beware and research any other drugs they suggest before accepting them.. Be very careful. If for some reason you go to the hospital I would suggest you not let them give you this drug via IV. I alerted my care team and they still have it to me this way. 2 young gals came in with syringes. I asked what they were as one proceeds to administer the seroquel. I immediately started having hallucinations. Ungodly scary things. So the second nurse is pondering using the morphine. I'm like yes! Please do. Totally sane as anyone I found myself scared to death. Screaming. Once you get on seroquel as I have what are you going to do when your dose no longer works and a higher dose causes such terror? I'm totally stuck. I fall at night. Wandering around. It causes a voracious appetite so I am also wandering the kitchen late at night grazing for food. At the beginning I gained over 100 lbs and I'm a naturally skinny person. Cataracts, dry itchy skin that tears easily. My vision is horrible and I'm looking at having yet another cataract surgery. My muscle tissue has turned to flab. And 1 thing I will never understand is why give such a medication to some one with sleep narcolepsy? And the final fun fact I can't sleep at all without this drug now. Please please be very careful with this medicine. I've fallen asleep with food in my hair and all over. I had a pancreas attack. Nothing replaces this drug. God bless everyone taking this crap. Thanx Doctor for presentations with in depth analysis of indications, side effects, anti indications, history, drug trials, etc . all without drug company bias. I am a psychiatric nurse in Australia & notice drugs along with diagnoses follow fashion & of course.the quick fix as demanded by clients & belief that post ww2 chemistry is life's panacea. Pharmaceutical products certainly have improved life for us lucky ones in the developed world but such are abused for money printing by Pharmaceutical companies & making doctors the agents for sales. So good you include in your presentations the abuse angle. Thank you.

I want to try to get off of this medication. I’ve been on it for 16 years for insomnia. So far it is the only medication that has helped me sleep but I don’t like the side effects. It makes me feel a little nervous and makes my heart pound. It also makes me feel very hungry, especially for sweets. Recently I have been having trouble swallowing after taking it. I told my doctor and she said that it shouldn’t be from the Seroquel but I feel like it is. I want her to change it next time I see her.

I have super depressed/panic/anxiety episodes during the day however. But at night I’m drowsy happy and relived. If there is one What’s your opinion on what’s different between Xanax and Seroquel? @@crunkedreviews5275 My personal opinion is that the resistance time for Xanax and other benzodiazepines is extremely quick and much faster than seroquel hence the higher rate of abuse. Seroquel will not relax you in the way that xanax does, xanax will actually make you feel good whereas seroquel is purely a tranquilizer and rather than calming you, will dull you. I find it helps with my anxiety long term much better than Xanax / Valium did

Well, you can say it should not be used for insomnia; however, as long as physicians believe they may be at risk prescribing minor tranquillizers, benzodiazepines class of controlled substances, they will use whatever works for insomnia. The proof it works is the common use of this drug for sleep. If you really wish to remedy this, the medical community needs to explain to the gatekeepers they are fooling themselves with 'controlled substances' making the public more vulnerable to excessive drugging by forcing people into compromising a less controlled, but more dangerous drug.

There seems to be a lot of contradictory info online, with some studies showing that if you are presenting with TD, it is best to get off as quickly as possible; but, other evidence showing that a slow taper is needed in order to better prevent the possibility of permanency. Your opinion on this would be so appreciated.

Another option: Dry mouth may be from tongue thrusting. If you experience snoring, sleep apnea, respiratory disorders or abdominal migraines, it is heavily correlated with mouth breathing or an underdeveloped jaw. Expanding pallette (dna or alf appliance) might help. If it is a mild to moderate case, take a thin piece of sports tape before sleep and tape from just beneath the nose to below the lower lip, leaving side of lips free of the tape. This brings jaw forward and in turn presses tongue to the roof of the mouth, expands airways and keeps the mouth moist (lowers dental cavities). The commercial head strap uses compression which is detrimental for overall health. Many epigenetic doctors believe underdeveloped jaws leads to neurological disorders by putting stress on the nerves in the cervical and thoracic spine, as the chronic issue can causes disregulation of neurotransmitters and nutrients. Ultimately, neurology recommend the palette expander, as it relieves pressure from inflamation in the brain, increasing the threshold for inflammation and decreasing risk for disease.

you're seeing what you want. I was extremely athletic 5ft weight 120lbs and had a 24 inch waistline even after having a baby at 33. 2010 had a psychotic break was put on 400mg Seroquel xr. My weight without out me changing mt diet and exercise routine jumped th 240+ lbs in about 7 to 8 months. I have fatty liver disease, my waistline is 45 inches, I am borderline type 2 diabetes. It took me eating a 800 calorie a day diet for 6 years to get down to 175lbs. That is a starvation diet, nobody should have to do that every single day for 6 years. 2021 my weight has plateaued at 175lbs. No matter what I do I can't loose anymore weight. In my 20s and early 30s I danced professionally and was in the military. I was in peak physical health. Still have fatty liver disease, still boarderline type 2 diabetes. And IF you are a doctor more evidence regarding longterm obesity with fatty liver disease, it starts causing fatty heart and other cardiovascular diseases. I don't drink any alcohol and watch other medications that can strain my liver and kidneys. I have severe osteoarthritis in my feet, ankles, hips, upper back and neck because my 5ft frame wasn't designed to carry 240 lbs or even 175 lbs. I am 51 and my health has been destroyed by Seroquel. Also, I have lost some cognitive skills: I can't read a novel, even writing at a grade 6 level (although I can read technical materials) In my career I had to Develop/Create complex calculations and algorithms, today I can't multiple or divide fractions! I have horrible memory loss. I have absolutely no creative parts to my personality which originally I had multiple creative endeavors. So yes it is slowly destroying my mind too.

It happened the same to me, i can´t read anymore without having an headache, and it a thing that used to like. Complex intelectual work was gone and have an economics degree, i barely can keep with a conversation, my liver is not good too an i never was an alcoholic. I was about 15 years in seroquel because stress problems\anxiety derived from military, the shrink tricked me into 300 mgs a day of it but i never tok more than 150, that was a key decision or i would be dead or a completely mental retard by now. When reading became painful, coupled with the discovery of cataracts in my eyes i start to suspect about that venom; i start to read all i could about it and became in panic because it was a vast amount of venom that i took in those years. And i took the decision of quit that thing, but, i was complwetely hooked on it, it is impossible to sleep if one do not take it cold turkey, i mean, you just do not sleep ever... but my decision was made , i never liked drugs and that is what i am a drug addict loosing my mind and became increasingly a zombie. I spend 3, 4 days without sleep, my brain was frying when i couldn't take anymore i called the shrink and he told me to take diazepam and i slept finally. When i woke up i thought that i was free from the venom but then i realize that i had a permanent buzz in my head particulary in the left ear, and at night my head seems like going to explode with my eyes popping and nearly hallucinating, so i went to hospital, they measured my blood pressure at 20 sistolic. I went like this about a month, normal at day and with very high blood pressure at night, this was caused probably beacause the dopamine receptors were not blocked anymore so the sudden rush of dopamine will overload your brain and mess with your body sistems to put it quite simply. I never can sleep more than 4,5 hours at night now , i'm always tired and sleepy, very difficult to work, this condition and the buzz in my left ear is clearly an indication of brain damage caused by this substance. If you take the decision of quit the drug don't do it on your own: it can be deadly, i mean it, there is people that was hooked on this and heroine and they say that the pain and suffering is comparable particulary when it came to quit definitely. Now to me shrinks are very dishonest people to say at least because they attribute the side effects of their "medicaments" to the mental disorders of the patients, washing their hands right there from it, the idiot that conned me into take this do not wnat to hear about the side effects of the drug he prescribed...i hope you get well i understand what you went through it is sad that it could be solved by other means without harming your health so much.

Doctors are TERRIFIED to prescribe more practical and safer medications such as benzodiazepines because the DEA limits their ability to practice good medicine, threatening doctors with fines, losing their license to practice medicine or even prison time for prescribing proper medications to more patients than the DEA would prefer. Instead, they prescribe extremely strong and new antipsychotic drugs with unknown side effects for the smallest sleep problem or anxiety disorder when a small Rx for Xanax would be safer. 9 MILLION prescriptions a year for a drug whose only indication is the treatment of advanced schizophrenia...I'd love to hear a doctor, patient's, or law enforcement worker's point of view on this insanity.

@@steezy1729 I'm sorry they made you ill: They should be avoided when possible. The WD's are potentially fatal in extreme cases. Psychiatric illness is a very real problem that kills many more people than benzos. In a perfect world, nobody would need them but this becomes a less perfect world every year for the mentally ill. What I was attempting to convey is that it is not the place of the DEA to "teach" medical doctors how to prescribe medications: They are not qualified and it is insulting to the doctors' intelligence. Moreover, benzos are very often preferable to neuroleptics such as Thorazine or Zyprexa which give patients much worse symptoms long-term than benzodiazepines (look up tardive dyskinesia.) I find it even more brazenly irresponsible to prescribe atypitcal- antipsychotics with little long-term data in terms of side effects as "Seroquel" willy nilly for sleep or minor behavioral problems when a less invasive medication would suffice. Benzos have severe side effects for many patients if abruptly discontinued and should be avoided if possible. Antipsychotics should not be prescribed so commonly to non-psychotic patients like they currently are in 2021: Antipsychotics should not be an acceptable alternative for panic attack/intractable insomnia in non-psychotic patients in my view (and in the view of all the DSM's). I hope you are feeling better after your experience: That sounds horrible.

Wow Greg Rawlins. It's like you read my thoughts exactly. Seraquil was prescribed to me and I was taken off Xanax because Dr's are being threatened of loosing their license. Just imagine being stopped taking Xanax immediately, after taking it As Needed to replace it with Seraquil... I was Hallucinating snakes were coming out of my vents and onto my bed! I didn't dare close my eyes! And after telling my Dr about the Terrifying effects he doubled the Seraquil dosage which I Refused to take anymore, he refused to see me again until I see a counselor/therapist And a psychiatrist. Unbelievable how what the Patient FEELS no longer matters. It sickness me to know that Dr's and Pharmaceutical Companies are literally Stealing Millions and we are treated like rat labs. And now that everything is going Virtual... Really irritates the shit out of me. That's not what I call AN APPT WITH A DR IS. I ain't paying for no office visit OVER THE PHONE. Guess we won't be needing Dr's advice. My opinion only. Sorry Greg for getting off the subject. See what Seraquil does to me??? Glad I weaned myself off of that poison. Have a blessed day and be safe. 🤗

This was so depressing..I already worry about drug side effects.Im taking it for bipolar I've had a couple of Psychotic eps too it really helped me during those times,to not drive myself crazy overthinking every little thing and with my insomnia.I haven't notice too many side effects except dry mouth in the morning but goes away and possible weight gain. All the stuff he said does scare me but so does having more manic eps so that's why I'm taking it unless there's something better out there whether pill or other wise I don't see the point of fear mongering😑

@@jasonbig1353 As far as side effects there the same..Though i have noticed its not helping me with the intrusive thoughts at night anymore..But it does help me sleep without it i wouldn't have a normal sleeping routine..I would stay up till 7 am or even 1pm sometimes cause i couldn't sleep now i get sleepy around 11 pm or before 3 am depending how early i take it i notice for sleep i can be on a lower dose and still have it work for sleep like 100 mg i hear for people who only needed for sleep 50 mg is a starting dose..I was put on 400 mg originally for psychosis and when i first started it it was pretty strong i would wake up at 3pm and still be kinda sleepy so it takes a few months for your body to get use to it i think. You could also try lowering the dose if your on a higher dose than 50 mg and are too sleepy. Its up to you you could research supplements for sleep or try a different med..

@@jasonbig1353 do not take it for insomnia. It's not worth the risks. Look at my comment above and please try otc remedies like micro dose of time release melatonin and finding a combination of herbal sleep aids that work with great synergy. Also a lot of magnesium. People don't realize how important magnesium is and how much people are deficient. You can switch it up by taking benadryl or doxylamine succinate for a couple of weeks then to the melatonin and herbs or even all together. Ask your doctor for ambien and take that for a week or two MAX then take what I mentioned above and take 1-3 month breaks from the ambien so it doesn't build tolerance too quickly or enough to not work. Seroquel is a serious medication and that's why I recommend you doing something like what I explained. More hectic for sure but much healthier.

I love my seroquel. It helps me sleep, & keeps my moods stable. Now I still take an snri for depression & an axiolytic for anxiety as im on a pretty low dose at 200 mg / day. Only side effect is bruxism and i 100% feel that is the snri. Its the only AP ive taken that didnt send me into hypomania other than latuda which is way to expensive.

My anxiety is very bad so I'm willing to give this a try to take as needed - but I definitely don't want to take this long-term. I only think for those where literally nothing else works (e.g. severe schizophrenia) should consider staying on anti-psychotic for years on end. I think these drugs have their place (after all my anxiety is making my life unliveable and practically pointless because there's no relief, no joy, just stress and casual suicidal ideation). So I'm willing to try for a while but I want another long-term solution (e.g. regular cognitive behavioural therapy when I can afford it - it sucks how a lack of money means you can't get human to human help).

I also suffer debilitating generalised anxiety disorder, seroquel works wonders for anxiety even just 25mg makes my anxiety go away. I only take 25mg at bedtime to relieve nighttime anxiety so I can go to sleep, I don't find that it's actually a very good sleeping medicine sometimes I still have insomnia and can't sleep after taking it but I feel very relaxed and calm and don't feel anxious about not being able to sleep. I have never tried taking it for anxiety during the day.

Great PRN for acute mania, but as a maintenance therapy, you'd be better off on elephant tranquilizers. It's fascinating that the latter effect is not dose-dependent and I really appreciate that this video points that out..

I think this is definitely an okay prescription for personality disorders, obviously depending on the case. But for me, a BPD guy, it's done things for my mood that I haven't experienced before in life. It has this great effect where, if I feel a very negative emotion that emotion stays in that moment and doesn't linger. So if you have serious mood fluctuation, anger, anxiety etc. as a symptom of a mood disorder, I would consider bringing this drug up to your doctor.
