Welp, good luck topping this one | Mountain Biking Jonkershoek in South Africa

After dropping in to Cape Town around midnight we got up nice and early to beat the heat and check out Jonkershoek Nature Preserve in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Holy moly what a ride. This video is just the FIRST of several amazing trails, stay tuned for the rest!

Brian, I live in Cape Town and have been mountain biking for about 8 years. For no good reason I have never ridden in Jonkershoek till this past weekend. Was great to finally ride the trails I watched you ride 5 years ago! This is probably the most spectacular MTB scenery in the Cape (which is no easy feat!) . Even I was blown away.

A BKXC video on a Tuesday? Yes, please! Let's ride! 0:59 - As a newly joined member of the Broken Bone Club myself, I can sympathize. Haha! 3:22 - "Have you seen my Strava time?" Yep, a true biker. 😂 3:59 - I love the accents from other countries. South African is among my favorites. Australian, UK, and South African are easily in my top 6 or 7 favorites. 4:13 - Don't fall to the left! 5:19 - Man, can you imagine being able to just fill your water bottle directly from the Earth like this? That water looks so delicious and refreshing. 7:33 - Dude, are that cacti? The long, tall plants that you're sending through? 8:00 - "No two [trails] are the same." Man, that's no joke. Your Kenya trip looked like you were riding through the jungle in some parts (though I don't think you were) and this terrain looks so different. Those plants are unusual, to me. If I didn't know better, I'd almost say you were in the southern Arizona desert, near Tucson. Those tall plants look like furry saguaros. hard to tell what they really look like when you're whizzing by on a bike. 😉 Oh, wow, that kinda ended suddenly. Haha! This looked like a lot of fun. You had some pretty good speed there in a couple of spots. I'm assuming there's a second part to this video. I hope you're doing well, Brian. The date of this video is the day I had my surgery. It's pretty neat to see the evidence of other people's lives when you go through your own significant events. Or maybe it isn't, I don't know. B1KER hey yeah dude, imo it's one of the most beautiful cities in the world so much diversity and culture, love it here. Up on the mountains in Cape town we have around 24 000 different species of vynbos which is the local bushes.
