From my own experience discovering Nightwish recently, having watched the videos of the live shows multiple times and bought all the live albums, this is the best way to watch Nightwish live, if the song is available from Wacken 2013, choose this first, if not go with Wembley 2015, then Buenos Aires 2018 and finally Tampere 2015 especially for the Greatest Show On Earth. The shows are given in order of audio mix quality.

"Swanheart" is not originally just an instrumental song. It is a beautiful song from the album "Oceanborn", the band's second. There is a beautiful performance of this song recorded on the dvd "From wishes to eternity".

Greetings from Finland! I guess you already know that Floor wasn't 100% in this B.A. show, but still recovering from a sickness that hit her so hard that she could hardly speak when they started the South-American leg of their "Decades" world tour. In one of her interviews she also said that she was very happy having managed to sing the high note at the end of Ghost Love Score in B.A..

The band formed in ‘96 and yes, all three of these are Tarja songs. I see you already looked up the other two but Swanheart is from Oceanborn, 1998. It’s a gorgeous song and I’d love to hear Floor sing it someday, but letting Troy pipe it as an instrumental was a lovely choice too. Tarja left in 2005; Anette was 2007 to 2012, and Floor took over mid-tour in Oct 2012 and was officially made a member along with Troy in summer 2013, publically announced in like October 2013. 🤘

Majority this decades tour is Tarja era song. Tour idea is "celebrate" band 20 year career and play some songs that band not have played live in 10-15 years or more. Some songs are not their "biggest hits" but band/Tuomas choice to "describe band music".

Troy played the Uilleann pipes which is the name for the Irish bagpipe. Unlike the Scottish bagpipe, the Irish one is not mouth-blown, but is held on the lap while the air is pumped with the elbow by means of a bellows so That gives Troy the ability to play and sing at the same time.

😡 Do you have a problem with us old Nightwish & Tarja fans? 🧡😁🧡 It's so nice to see you introducing Nathan to Nightwish, Ryan. When we seen Nightwish at Wacken 2013, Marko introduced Floor to the audience. We had no idea who she was and neither did most of the people around us. But we all agreed. Whoever she was and wherever they found her... she was a brilliant and powerful singer. After the concert, we hung out with some European fans who knew Floor, and they gave us a great history lesson on her. Floor said Nightwish saved her musically and Tuomas said Floor has been a blessing. Pretty damn cool union.

Those are Uilleann (elbow) Pipes (Irish). More mellow and smoother/softer sound than the Scottish pipes.

Love your reactions, a finn here, I fell in love with Nightwish about three monts ago when I stumbled into Floor. Never like Tarjas or Anettes voice, so even though Tuomas wrote excellent music couldn’t listen to it before Floor. Now, I can’t listen anything else. 😆

Once(2004) Keyboard warriors will come!! Ryan opening the cane of worms I am on Anette's team!! Nah! My team is les Canadiens de Montréal we won 24 cups. Speaking of Montreal I remember seeing this Decades tour back in March 2018 we waited outside for a long time because like many people know Nightwish do not play in big arenas around here. They played once at Heavy Montreal but they were not the headliner. I will let the singers war for others. See you later alligators!!

My favourite singer of the 3 is actually Floor, because she has sooo much versatility and power in her voice. Tarja has a beautiful voice, but after a few albums of the same thing, it kind of became...boring, almost. Annette has a very different voice again, very 'pop singer'. Tuomas brought in Annette because they wanted to go in a different direction with the band, try new sounds, which they did. Oddly enough, my favourite albums are the 2 with Annette, but I prefer Floor's rendition of them. Annette is a good singer in studio, probably better than most, but it doesn't translate over to live, she's very pitchy and not very good live, unfortunately. Apparently she gets stage fright and very nervous. Probably also didn't help that she had VERY big shoes to try and fill with Tarja leaving. There was a lot of backlash aimed at her from the fans apparently, which is kinda sh!t, so that put her off in her live concerts, too.
