Had a rockpool aquarium in the UK 30 years ago as a child. For those in the UK it's superb for kids, getting them to investigate and learn about the life on the coast. Used to spend a lot of time as a child at the beach catching everything from hermit crabs, shrimp, pawns, fish and even a lobster at one point. Also great to see a youtuber pushing this. One advantage people may not realise is that rockpool creatures are actually used to wide variety of temperature and salinity. Worth mentioning that people need to check legality of catching things from nature. Some countries may have restrictions.

Temperate Marine systems are vastly underrepresented. Seems like the only Marine systems we see are identical blue-tinted psychedelic coral trips. Can't wait for saltwater aquariums to have the same diversity as freshwater ones!

Hi Mate, love this, i have my own tiny invertebrate tank at the moment, looking to size up maybe. Looking at getting better lighting to support all weed growth, currently only have a few species that dont really grow or rot but think this is due to cheap / standard lighting. Do you have any reccomendations on good lights and wavemakers? preferably on a budget but still good enough to get results. Wish i'd found your channel sooner! shame you have stopped this tank (from what i can see form video titles) but looking forward to watching all in the native playlist. Thanks, Lloyd

@@MARKSAQUATICS You know more than me mate :-p.., but I tell you something, keeping an aquarium taught me alot about life and about Gods roll upon the planet, that when we (God) intervene in the harmony of the tank, that bad things happen.., all we can do is ensure there is a stable environment and let nature take its course :-)

Would the steriliser kill all the beneficial bacteria?
@MARKSAQUATICS3 жыл бұрын
You place it at the end of the filter line so only the returning water goes through it. All beneficial bacteria will not be harmed. I will only be using it if I get an outbreak of white spot .
