I gave my cousin an electric frying pan for his wedding shower gift & he loved it. That was probably 35 years ago or so.

The trivia item is a crepe pan. I remember Welsh Rarebit as something my mother made quite often when I was growing up, minus the beer. I have never made it, but I will now, using your recipe. Thank you.

Love the content brother! What do you use to edit? I have one small tip to help your audio for headphone users
@IWantToCookКүн бұрын
Thank you! I’m using Filmora. And I’m all, um, ears on audio tip.
@FishingWithPorterКүн бұрын
@ nice! So I noticed a couple of times between clips there is a harsh “click” sound at the cut. This is common, but I found a workaround that makes the audio smooth and not choppy sounding. I’m not sure if there’s a way to add a default audio transition in Filmora like there is in premier pro, but I find some kind of audio transition like constant gain or anything that blends the two audio clips, then I set the duration to as low as possible (usually a millisecond) and then apply it to all the audio clips. In premier pro I just highlight all the clips and press control shift D and it auto applies the default. It doesn’t change the sound of any of the clips but it completely wipes out any noise at the cut making the entire thing sound smooth for people who are listening with headphones. Anyway your content is awesome regardless! I just found this out a while back and have been sharing it 🤣🤣 have a great week!

Thank you much! I’ll look into this with Filmora. Really appreciate the info. When I started the channel I knew absolutely nothing about video editing… or making videos at all, for that matter. Every one is a learning process. 🙏
@FishingWithPorter21 сағат бұрын
@ for sure! That’s part of the fun though, learning new things and watching your videos improve overtime. I’ve been editing for many years and when I made my Fishing channel I thought my videos were good but now looking back they were all pretty bad 🤣🤣 but looking back on old stuff and thinking they are bad only means you’re improving! I wish you the best of luck on your KZbin journey 🫡

Matt, being raised in a Catholic home, my mom would sometimes serve this for Friday dinner. I haven't had this since around the 1970's. It was delicious! Thank you! 🐇

@IWantToCook the rhythm of your speech is very similar to Chef Rick Bayless. I've thought that for a long time. Thank you for all of your great videos! 👩🍳

Well done - they looked good. The best rarebit I've had is at Fergus Henderson's St. John restaurant. He doesn't use the milk in the bechamel just Guinness, plus mustard, cayenne and Worcestershire Sauce - when you order it comes with a bottle of Worcestshire Sauce for you to splash all over (usually best to score the topping into squares/diamonds to help the sauce sink in). I would say most UK recipes don't use milk, unless you are specifically avoiding using a beer/ale/stout. I'd avoid the recipes that try getting fancy with adding egg yolks or cream or bacon.

Right on! That sounds delicious. Before my body turned against me I loved Guinness; now most booze gives me migraines. Thanks for watching and happy cooking 👍

Thank you for making them gluten free. Not many cooking shows do that.

crepes. Reminds me I need to make some. I remember (back in the 70"s) when I was a girl scout having an international food day with all the other troupes in the area. My troupe made crepes. IHOP has them from time to time but they are never as good as the ones we made. As far as the rarebit goes, I would rather just have a grill cheese.

That is a crepe pan. I snagged 2 carbon steel crepe pans at a thrift store. They are really nice!

I always wondered why in America they have biscuits in gravy, here in the UK we call biscuits are what you would call cookies. We have Yorkshire pudding with gravy lol it's a batter cooked in the oven The trivia is a crepe pan.

Never able to tolerate Worcestershire, maybe because of the anchovies or vinegar kick, and don’t like beer; but just the rest is so delectable on toasted English muffins. Can I call mine English Bunny Chomp?

I have one of that kind of pan, and it is a c...e pan. But Is that non-stick!? I've got a nice carbon steel deBuyer one, though I've only used it for pancakes for a while.
@IWantToCookКүн бұрын
Good eye. Yes, it’s nonstick. I also have a carbon steel one, but use that one far more for searing steaks and the like.
@H4KnSL4KКүн бұрын
@IWantToCook I used to make wraps for the kids especially. No sticking problems at all. But I am on a strict keto diet, so I haven't thought of making them very much lately. I also have a nice carbon steel pan (with higher sides), so I usually default to that, or a stainless that has more surface area

The seasonings were mixed in with the flour. I forgot to show the Worcestershire sauce, though. That can be added with the milk, beer, or cheese. 👍

Wonder if I can make this vegan using vegan subs?
@IWantToCookКүн бұрын
Good question. I've yet to find a vegan cheese I really like, but since this is incorporated into a sauce, there might be something that works. Of course, the sauce must be non-dairy, too, but such milks are easier to find.
@Sheri...Күн бұрын
@@IWantToCook yeah, might need too many subs to pull it off.
@lisabobanКүн бұрын
Nope. You can make something like it, but not THIS recipe.
