WEN 6552t 13” THICKNESS PLANER UNBOXING SETUP AND REVIEW

In today's world of exploding lumber prices buying lumber in the rough is a great way to save money! This WEN 13" thickness planer from Amazon.com is just the affordable and well reviewed tool for the job! The powerful 15 amp motor can thin down the heartiest of wood with ease! The 13" width combined with the 6" maximum depth can allow you to plane down your wood for just about any project you're building!
The planer comes with a detachable dust collection shoot that will fit a standard shop vac hose and an adapter to fit a 4 inch dust collector it you have one in your shop.
Assembly was simple since the planer comes completely assembled sans the cutter head lifting handle.
Out of the box the machine worked great, minimal snipe on the board which can be removed with a little sanding, nothing that would necessitate cutting off the affected area.

You can actually adjust the in feed and out feed tables to eliminate all the snipe.

Great video! I'm torn between this one and the Craftsman 2 blade planer, I think I'm going to go with this one since it's a 3 blade for a better price. Just curious, at the end of the video you added a comment about the dust collector needing to be removed before you stored it. Is it possible that you can just raise the motor all the way up and dust collector clear the out shelf when it flips up? Thanks!

I am having trouble lowering my Wen planer below 1 3/8", have you run into that problem?

No haven’t had any issues with it, honestly haven’t used it more than five times but it works well.
