@mostlycoldandfullofrocks3317 I feel like the alternates are a much more understood phenomenon and some people just don't take it serieous enough. It may very well be some form of guilt seeking punishment. The fact that he mentioned being in mandala county makes me think they are much more anchored to that general area than we thought, which would also explain the car driven by one that never seemed to make a return. It just got warped back somehow. This would mean that if he had made it fully out of the county he wouldn't have to worry about it at all. Lastly when the doctor said he was proud of judas I don't think the possibility of him just simply leaving the county to keep his family safe from alternates was given any mention. If they were land locked in a way then moving and leaving everything behind would be a hard decision but ultimately a good one.

Adam’s dad is the shepherd, which I think is pretty easy to tell. This isn’t me proposing some new crazy theory, but I just want to lay all the evidence out. The similarities between Judas Murphy and the begin with the lamb, with the shepherd referring to it as “little one” and realizing something is wrong with it which mirrors what happened to Adam. The shepherd in chains scene has the line “My foolishness will be my legacy.” and directly after the claymation scene there’s an argument between Judas and the man on the phone says “You know what you did, stop acting like it didn’t happen.” Having a scene that talks about past failures you can’t forget take place directly after another scene that says their legacy will be only their foolishness seems incredibly intentional. Beyond that my main point is I think we figured out that Judas is the shepherd, but I don’t think that’s all the “shepherd” represents. The shepherd Gabriel refers to in the “You followed the shepherd, you are a fool” line to Adam is humanity itself. Adam continues to follow the ways of humanity instead of the alternates because he feels connected to humanity, and honestly what greater human connection could there be than that of a Parent and their child?

The lady at 6 minutes in. It took me a w hile to really examine why she was seemingly abnormal. especially as the otehrs seemed far more abnormal. But then I remembered that these are his impressions of these anomalies. The earholes on her are missing which may be obvious to many. However. If you REALLLLLLY look at her eyes. Its not makeup or eye shadow being worn. her eyes are just kinda floating in dark voids. THATS why she is so abnormal and weird/uncanny looking. I saw others asking what was so off about her before. I think thats really what it is. Even with makeup on you would see contours of the makeup. where skin meets makeup things like that. But no. Her eyes are just there floating in darkness on her face lol.

45:01 this could be extremely far fetched and me just being a theorist or something but, what if adam was following a sort of God alternative ( no pun intended ) in this universe when he said he was going to “do the right thing” and that’s what he did to make the alternatives be like “yo wtf are you doing, don’t make me wake the others.” bc even if God may not exist physically, maybe he still does mentally. Remember: God played a crucial part in the story of Adam and Eve. Maybe instead of the serpent tempting Adam to go against God, it’s God “tempting” Adam to go against the serpent ( alternates ).

The stop motion could both represent Jude, Adam’s father, but maybe also Joseph and Jesus. Perhaps either Jesus died, if Mary was pregnant with the original, and “came back,” or perhaps this is an alternate (he he) version where Joseph had a normal child but through it dying early possibly cause it to come back as an Anti-Christ of sorts I’m leaning towards the former but it’s obvious this is mainly representative of Jude and his family
