I think people are putting their trust into AI a little too much. What happens if the AI messes up an order? Humans are way more reliable. Plus, people need to work at places like wendy's if they don't have other places to work at. This isn't a very good idea.

Tbh, as someone who worked at wendy's I don't think the AI would really take anyones job, bc if we didn't need someone on the drive thru, orders would get done so much quicker. So anyone who was working drive thru would just be on a different station. As much as I don't like AI, it would make rush hours way less sucky if we had more than just 1 person making sandwiches.

The big issue I have is that AI can still make mistakes and lacks the reasoning capabilities that people can have. For example, I’ve played video games in which the AI almost always made reckless, impulsive, and eventually predictable decisions, usually at their detriment. They never had the strategic abilities.

giving drive through ordering ai feels like a move that is dystopian and the social aspect of being able to talk to a person and maybe crack a joke with them instead is removed making some people feel less welcomed without that human interaction while yes speeding up the process if only slightly but it isn't the right way to go
