I was nervous af first going to my powerlifting gym cause of how strong some of the guys were but took in everything they told me and took my squat from 385 to over 500 in less than a year and most of my shoulder pain from bench is gone. Now they’re the best training partners I can ask for and helped me get into powerlifting and got me ready for my first meet which was in March

I went to WestSideBarbell this January, that talk about anxiety waiting for the lifters to come through is so surreal. When I went the first person I met was Burley Hawk, I’m 19 and I never seen a human so big in my life

@@hogleg8103 my first time using a GHR, SSB, and RH(didn’t have those at my old gym). I got fucked(so much new stimulus), but also hit a deadlift PR and really learned what going for something meant.

@@mythoclaust1283, Cool.... what'd you deadlift for your "P.R.", 220lbs? 100lbs of bar weight with 100lbs of reverse tension bands?😁😅 You must be strong 😂
@mythoclaust128310 ай бұрын
@@mikevaldez7684 I was a wrestler and lifted with the MMA guys who were there at the time. I got to train with stipe miocic and Matt brown. Shit on WSBB all you want but they have amazing athletes. But I maxed out at 650 on deadlifts(conventional )no tension :). And 500x2 against black minis as well @195. Bench 335 to a Usapl standard and squatted 515 no tension when I was there
