Hey Steve, I love the Style Council and the Jam! I guess I heard Style Council at the right time, 40 years ago, or so 🙂 They have always appealed to me.

@@EmbryonicRobot The Jam are great. This CD by Style Council just didn’t did hook me. But I haven’t given up on them yet Brian!

I haven't been to a Record Show in years, mainly because they mostly sell records and very few CD'S. I don't think I've ever seen a organize Record Show outside before, that was kinda cool. I'm with you on The Style Council. I never got into them.
@STEVEHEROLD3 ай бұрын
yeh was kinda weird being outside. they lucked out cause even though we got a little drizzle it never rained much like it was originally supposed to. CDs def were an after thought for most of the sellers here. There’s another punk heavy one around here that ive always thought bout checking out but never have. maybe one day.

I go to record shows.. Because my wife makes me ! 🤥I have that Transplants on vinyl, 2 good tracks on that one ! The Jam, and solo Paul Weller is where it's at .. some Style Council is pretty good, though. Snap would be good to find on vinyl, if it exists

I like your Strokes poster. Cool Transplants CD. I like The Jam, but I'm not familiar with The Style Council. I'll be at a record show in a few weeks, and I have a few boxes of stuff I want to sell. I vaguely remember a record riot in Buffalo a few months ago. I couldn’t make it, but it looked well attended.

Hi Steve. I was waiting for a riot at the record show. I was imagining a group of grizzled, grey-haired Beatles fans fighting over a rare copy of 'Please Please Me' (or similar). Nice shot of the ocean though. I don't know why you don't see many CDs at record shows. It's possibly because the vendors can make bigger profits on vinyl they've picked up cheap from either thrift stores or private collections. A lot of the Style Council's music hasn't dated well. Paul Weller was trying too hard to compete with the 80s pop bands. Thankfully he started playing to his strengths again with his solo records. You can't beat the Jam. It's amazing how big they were for awhile here in the UK. 'Going Underground' went straight into the singles chart at number one, and they appeared on the BBC's Top Of The Pops playing that and the b-side.

@@carltweed942 hahah i told all the people about to riot they were just playing into what Carl Tweed wanted them to do. so they stopped. i gotta check out some of Weller’s solo stuff. it always surprises me The Jam didn’t have more success here. i honestly think the first time they crossed my path was when Wonder Stuff covered That’s Entertainment in mid 90s.

Hi Steve - My favorite Style Council album is Introducing .. It's short , but has the excellent songs Speak Like A Child & Long Hot Summer. At Live Aid , I liked You're The Best Thing. Good band but nowhere near as good as The Jam.
@STEVEHEROLD3 ай бұрын
hey david. yeh i def gotta look into their catalog. i’ll take a look at that album you mentioned. the tunes they did on my Live Aid DVD i really liked. guessing maybe they were from the album after Cafe Bleu.

I rarer go to shows, too many people fighting for the boxes. I am going to one in a couple weeks. I need to get that first Jam album again. I originally found it super cheap in a bargain bin. Those days are over
@STEVEHEROLD3 ай бұрын
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 yeh the struggle to look thru the bins at record shows is real. when i used to go to those Kiss conventions my trick was wait for the special guest speaker to start talking cause all the Kiss fans would leave to listen and since I didn’t care about Kiss i’d have all the bins to myself. of course that doesnt work at reg shows. hahah. im keeping tabs on all the colorado stores ya hitting up for my next visit. thanks for tuning in steve.

lol....not true....but really funny. That Jam is a nice pickup. Steve you're right, I rarely see The Jam CD's used and never for $2 so great pickup.
