As someone who has a Steam Deck and Ally, I think you'll love the flexibility with having a full Windows OS on the handheld. It's not perfect, and I kept my Deck so I could use it more as a console experience for Steam games...but I there are a myriad of customization options you can do since it's running Windows that make it easier to use with the controller sticks. I also ordered the official dock for mine (which you need still if you want the FULL power when plugged into a TV) and use it with the HDMI on hotel TVs and a wireless controller-sized keyboard so I can use this as a PC while travelling
