@@omgitzhaze Still way better than tiny skateboard wheels that go 25mph on electric boards. Small wheels are easier to turn which equals faster and really they (kick-scooter wheels) are pretty stable....ehh mostly lol. The bigger the wheel the more watts needed and more battery power so then the whole scooter keeps getting bigger. They do make a kick-scooter with big ass balloon tires (and permanent seat) but it only does like 18mph, its almost like an old persons mobility scooter.

Thanks for this great video Kevin! It is hard to find good videos on the power scooters especially Dualtrons and Wepeds. Seeing the reactions from pro scooter riders was a true testament to its power. I have always respected the Weped scooter aesthetics and build quality. I was actually thinking of getting a Weped Mini-R after seeing your review of it. I had forgotten about that little blue beauty. Once it went down to sub $2K I was strongly considering it. Unfortunately I waited too long and they were sold out at that pricepoint. I was able to see the Weped 50 and Mini-R at Minimotors when I was shopping for a Raptor 2 or Compact. After testing them all out I am glad I went with the Compact. I think it is the rarest Dualtron as no one wants the solid tires and drum brakes. Minimotors told me that no ones seems to know about the Compact and it is a sleeper. I have 40 miles now on the Compact after a week of ownership and I am glad I went that route. Once you get accustomed to the drum brakes and wide solid tires the no-flat peace of mind at 40MPH makes me smile. The Compact also completely smokes my Mantis off the line. Once you learn to brace properly for bumps and potholes and don't take hard corners you will love the Compact. It does not corner well compared to the Mantis but straight line stability is great with the wide tires and stiff suspension. The folding handlebars also let me store it in my garage just like my commuter scooters which I couldn't do with the Mantis non-folding wide handlebars. I thought I would find the drum brakes lacking but adjusted and with ABS enabled they can definitely stop the Compact with authority. I love not having discs exposed on scooters. My Mantis discs have been fine but I have had other scooters and mountain bikes get bent rotors all the time. There is nothing exposed on the Compact that can be hit to brake, bend or puncture. It is a commuter, power scooter tank :) Oh...can't wait for you to take a look at that Dualtron Mini. There is still nothing out for the Mini, Compact, or Raptor 2 that isn't in French or Russian. I need to turn on the rainbow LED mode on the Compact now after seeing the SS. I turn it to Orange to go with the San Francisco Giants colors but after seeing the SS I like that rainbow look now. It is an eye-catcher :)

So many people complaining about the price and speed. Guess what? This is a hyper scooter and not one production hyper car, bike, or boat sells for what it costs to make either. If it's beyond your means, buy something else, or save up if you want it. If the speed scares you or is beyond your skill level, you can practice and get more skilled, ride something else, or not ride at all. Either way, quit whining. You can get killed just as dead in the "safety" of your home. Have fun when and where you can. Nobody gets out alive and if all you do is worry about dying, you're gonna miss out on living. Class dismissed. Keep up the great work Alien!

Totally sweet ride, the whole thing is a 10+. You give the range in terms of hours, would love to see a cross-country video to see it in terms of total miles traveled at different cruising speeds. A good place to do this would be at a marathon, they typically have routes blocked off to cars for up to 26 miles. At 75 mph, I see a whole group traveling in caravan down a highway, awesome.

@AlienRides4 жыл бұрын
I do feel planted on the Rion as well. I think mainly due to the way the Rion deck is contoured.You have a little rear fin that raises up, and the front neck as well. These contours and features help your feet stay in position.

I would hope that they have several different modes for the throttle response. It's fine that it can go up to 75mph, but it should really have the option to limit torque so that it's useable. I think some people would be able to ride it at 75mph, but the initial torque on acceleration is so jerky that it scares people from going faster.

You refer to the machine as being fully waterproof is this backed up with an IP rating. Are the handlebar controls fully waterproof ?? I ask because the selector switches really do not look like they can handle a rain storm. I really require a heavy duty machine that I can use all year round in all weather conditions to be a genuine full time commuter to replace the car. Could you review this machine again showing under the hood and what makes it waterproof. Great channel Just had reply from Weped that the SS will only have waterproof connectors not a waterproof chassis or handlebar controllers and Weped added they will not cover water damage in the warranty.
